CO: why aren’t you talking about this great patch more?

The recent patch has put CS2 in by far the best state it’s been in so far. Performance is now good, the most obvious bugs are fixed and the simulation is better than ever. That’s not to say the game is perfect but I’d consider it to be in good shape at the moment.

How come CO are still silent? I’ve seen next to no publicity about this, I’d have thought they’d be shouting from the rooftops that the game is finally in a good state.

It's a great step in the right direction, but:
  1. the bugs that affect gameplay affects us and mean something different for each of us, so whilst you consider it largely fixed others may take a different view; and
  2. there has been a tendency towards a mob mentality any time CO tried to say something positive, so why bother...
For me, it is a huge improvement and CO deserves some recognition for it, but there are still some fundamental bugs in the game that need addressing.

In my latest attempt to play the game, I could not place a single residential signature building because it permanently prevented residents moving in despite full demand (one empty mansion = no new residents moving in.) That's pretty game breaking and means I can't use those assets at all in my city.

The "no road access" bug on some buildings still annoys the hell out of me.

I think this latest patch is great. Asides from AIL issues, I have not had any crashes. The game feels significantly faster. Add in all the region packs as well. Nice one Colossal & Paradox.

I have built 10 different test cities and each of them have a industry with no profits, it's rather interesting that commercial and office profits are beating the industry. I sure hope they patch that soon. Otherwise the other AI improvements are nice, just a few tweaks and we are golden.

Unfortunately, the latest patch also broke the economy more than ever both from a company point of view and also from an individual cims point of view. Something that should be hot fixed in my opinion as it's wreaking complete havoc on the economy in the game now, at least from a simulation players point of view, which is my primary reason for playing the game, so clearly, I have a biased desire to get it fixed ASAP :)

Even if it was true, which is not, considering all that's still missing and the many bugs lingering, why would they be boasting the game is at last approaching the state of a finished product 1 year and 5 months after the release? Their image is already damaged enough. They still have to release Bridges & Ports sold since 2023 anyway. Let them keep a low profile.

Sadly, its maybe 2 steps forward, one step back with CO. The game runs faster after this latest patch, but all my office and industry is going broke and my city of 1.2 million is in crisis and I cant find any way to fix it. So, once again Im stuck waiting for a patch........

For me and the GeForceNow users, it just keeps falling. We have made several reports here and on the Nvidia Forums about the problems since the lasted update. I keep go back here, but no feedback, no comunication.

It will never cease to amaze that there are people who really believe that others want games like this to fail.

People want to have fun. They want companies like CO to succeed. Just because they have criticisms does not mean they want a game like CS 2 to outright fail.

You're joking, right? "Our customers are angry with us, so let's just be quiet and not tell them too loudly that we've released a patch that could make them happier?" Incredible PR mentality some members here have.

From what I've seen the level of communication is on par with a typical patch. I received an email announcing the patch, content creators released pre-patch videos reviewing the patch, and then patch notes on this forum (also on Steam and probably other places.) I may be wrong but I think this is normal for a regular patch? From other companies I mean. They tend to go bigger for bigger releases. I'm sure that the Bridges expansion will get a lot of hype (coming soon...maybe...no soon!) I am old school and I only look for information on this site, or Youtube so I can't really say what's happening on other sites. Ok, boomer.

The problem is their lack of communication in general. There are some really interesting threads on here discussing aspects of the game that need work on. Such as industries. We really need somebody to come explain the mechanics of industries, what is working, what is not, and what they are planning on doing about it. What about the traffic issue? Threads that receive hundreds of replies, a lot of them well thought out go ignored (I'm sure they are read but we need more.) This breeds hostility and dampens any new information that we receive.

Personally I think the patch is a good step in the right direction. But I want more and better communication and I think the people who are calling for just that are in the right.
