That's been obvious for a few weeks at this point. I get why people are upset but I'm not sure why we're acting like they're hiding it

I personally was holding out hope they'd at least get some cosmetic flavoring in lieu of anything mechanical, but this DD confirmed that they're just adding access to some of the outfits from LoP to KotS.

I noticed that the Kimek bey wore LoP clothes as well. Which, to be fair, would be the devs responding to feedback. Many people complaining that the turkics were wearing mongol robes. I myself made a thread asking for LoP clothing to be given to them instead.

I like the change, I'm just sad that was the only thing they did. No new cosmetics for Turks in the steppe DLC when's there been complaints that they lack representation for some time now.

Just sayin it wasnt clear from the begining. It took multiple people, some from this thread asking if we would get Turkic tribes for them to come out and confirm turkic tribes were out.Personally they should have stated at the begining this would be a purely Mongol dlc.

Should have called it Khans of the Eastern Steppe ( Western Steppe maybe 2028 )

I’m hoping for a DLC that focuses on the Turkic tribes, and the Magyars too. Yeah most of us saw this coming. It’s a major disappointment for me, but it is what it is. This DLC just isn’t for me, and I’m going to pass on it for now.

Maybe I’ll come back and give CK3 another go when it has more depth, and hopefully some proper Turkic flavor added in too. It's simply the region I prefer playing the most.

Not gonna lie, I'll get the DLC but will probably not play Nomads more than like once or twice. My main reason for getting it for a more accurate backdrop for plays in anywhere near the Steppes. It's a shame the Turkic nomads won't get more interactions, art, or the fact that the setup won't change much (blobb Cumania even though it's a confederation, hello?). But at least the Steppes will be properly represented as somewhere I shouldn't expand. That's a win. I also dread the Community Pack DLC.

Oh and I will def play the Magyars, like come on that play from Nomad to Christian bastion writes the stories itself.

I don't even have a huge personal affinity or care for Turkic tribes but considering I'm often playing steppe adjacent I'd like steppe content to actually impact upon my gameplay as much as possible. So yeah I get it bro haha.

I feel like any Turkic focused DLC would be based around the Mamluks and that really would have to be the focus of the DLC. Like, a DLC that covered all of the steppe in depth would have to an expansion DLC like Roads to Power or All Under Heaven.

That would be a really shallow and disapointing dlc, when powers like the Khazars, the Karluk Yabgus/Karakhanids,the Oghuz Yabgu, the Pechenegs, the Cuman-Kipchaks,the Ghaznavids and the Seljuks should be at the forefront.

Right, I should have clarified I mean Mamluk soldiers, not the rulers of Egypt because doing that would require a 4th start date which I don't think the devs have any interest in doing. There is going to need to be a mechanical hook for a Turkic DLC since flavor packs don't seem to be a thing anymore and that is the obvious one for a Turkic DLC. Also, DLC don't really focus around like specific dynasties so I don't know why you'd think the Ghaznavids or Seljuks would be the specific focus of a DLC. The other main issue is that none of the current bookmarks are a good fit for specific events. 867 is too early for the Ghaznavids or Seljuks since they don't really become important till the mid 900s and the starting Byzantine/Seljuk war usually lasts way past Manzikert and the game can't really model how the Turks moved into Anatolia either.

I really don’t understand Paradox’s decision here. This is the Steppe Nomad DLC. If we’re not getting Turkic flavor with the Steppe DLC, when are we getting it? I guess we could eventually get a “Western Steppe” DLC, but that doesn’t seem likely.

I can’t wait for the India DLC that only focuses on the Delhi Sultanate. Or the Slavic DLC that only focuses on Russia.

Careful now, don't give them any ideas
I think we should take it as a given now that flavor in CK3 is very narrowly scoped
-Scandinavian DLC is pagan-only
-Persian DLC is 867-only and with (next to) no Turkic content
-Byzantine DLC has nothing for Orthodoxy, South Slavs, or Turks
-Iberian DLC... well, that did cover Iberia pretty fully so there's nothing to say on that one :)

Slavic DLC I would bet good money will be Russia only. India DLC I actually predict will only focus on earlier start dates and Dharmic realms, and once again turn a blind eye to Turkic presence in the region.

The Ghaznavids and the Seljuks were the biggest Persianate Turkic settled dynasties of the CK3 timetable and also they need more flavor being shafted in the Iran DLC.They can offer also very hard runs in their rags to riches to stories, for Toghrul III in 1178 restoring the Seljuk Empire and Ibrahim in 1066 restoring the Gaznavid Empire.
