It's a nice reversal of real life. The Wallonians will latch on to German collaboration moreso for cultural reasons and the Dutch will latch on for more pragmatic economic reasons. Little known fact, Leon Degrelle's father owned a cement factory and he collaborated during WW1

Did not know Luxembourg was a dirty collaborationist. The Netherlands will not be happy with them post-war.

Ah you've watched Possible History's newest video (or at least the first few minutes)? The situation is obviously different here. As there would still be that personal union if Wilhelmina (or any women) didn't gain the throne, even if a real political union is far-off still

I also had a bit of a realization. Von Ouster really is a German Atatürk here. Both are war heroes born in WW1. Both set out on the war path after the war for the sake of their respective fatherlands. Both seek to cut out their nation state from one (or two) imperial carcass(es). Both seek to build a nation state in one way or another inspired by the western powers that triumphed over them. Ofcourse, if Atatürk will be succesfull in his quest is still very much open. But I think both could very well reach a certain understanding in the position both their respective nations are in and seek cooperation over that

There's a few Ataturk style people running about post war OTL. Determined to radically change their country's, secure them against foreign influence, and drag them screaming through various massive internal changes to become modern liberal capitalist states.

Varying degrees of success, of course.

But Ouster is going to be seen as one of the ideals to follow, if Mustafa Kemal is not around.

Bloody hell. Literally in this case, with all that genocide it will be bloody and resemble hell.

Genocide, 'population exchanges' (at best pretty brutal forced relocations, and at worst, just the genocide again), pogroms all over the place, really violent revolts and groups for the radical left and right, a lot of general strikes, a plague killing everyone, a post war slump, and a lot of debt and territory to be repaid/rebuilt.

And that's all just OTL. Here, rhe entente are going to be prying the middle of the contient apart as well, and who knows what's going on in the balkans and the former Russian empire...

Depending on where you are, 1918 - 1922 was just as bad if not worse than 1914 - 1918.
