This is going to be a bit rambley, so please bear with me. Been trying a lot of empires in the last few weeks to try and understand the new systems, and avoid any empire breaking bugs.

My current attempt to make work is an Aquatic FS/M, with the wormhole worship civic, and I just swapped it to start with Crusader Spirit(A VERY BAD MOVE, as my Empire focus went with Conquest and FIVE red cards...) Been going Discovery/Statecraft, then Prosperity and Psionics. Had a few decent starts but I wasted them being dumb.

Now, before 4.0 I never really bothered building Temples to bump up my Priest count. Would build one for minor Amenities but never prioritize the research. Thus I was never impressed with the lump sum of Unity the Agenda would give me. 4.0 it seems to have been overlooked in the pop rework, especially since I should have way more priests than before!

Or do I?

About to restart, but a couple games I have met the Artisan Troupe, paid them for Influence and the Ministry of Culture building which converts ALL Bureaucrats into Culture Workers...WHICH LOWERS THE AMOUNT OF UNITY THE AGENDA GIVES OUT! (I think, only maybe noticed it now, hopefully I can recreate it for a bug report)

Job bonuses always confused me pre-4.0, whether for example a Necromancer would get both Soldier and Research bonuses or just get one(and now it is a soldier job giving research...). I thought Paradox said that jobs would inherit all modifiers to a job, if a building changes the name of the job. Although I forget what the final job name is on a Relic World with both the Genomic Research Facility and the Archeostudy building on it, it would get both buffs.

Does the Agenda only check for the name 'Priest'? Would Exalted Priesthood help it? Are MegaCorps screwed over yet again?

It shouldn't hurt your output. The agenda launch effect actually checks for job = bureaucrat (or High Priest/Technophant), which should include bureaucrats job swapped into culture workers the same way it includes bureaucrats job-swapped to priests.

Are you sure it's lowering the unity when you build a Ministry of Culture?

A priest is a bureaucrat that makes amenities, namely 200 of them per 100 priests, that is triggered by being spiritualist, or under special conditions.

As far as the game is concerned, things that look for priests now look for bureaucrats.

Culture workers are also bureaucrats. They combine all effects and advantages of priests on planets where both are expected to appear.

Sometimes jobs will actually change their name to reflect these changes. If you take both Anglers and Master Crafters, you combine "Artificers" with "Pearl Divers" to get "Pearl Crafters". However, job combinations always work, regardless if they have custom flavor or if only one appears to take priority.

...I feel like a major idiot.

Started new game, Artisan Troupe is found, they offer me the Ministry...and while looking at it I realize "Oh, well of COURSE my Unity went down, because I REPLACED the Temple in my Archives for it!"

Haven't built a Research Labs yet, so might just have the Archives be all Unity this game, and put the research in the general slots on my Hmeworld.

Ah, early game problems. Got a gift from my Overlord to go colonize a planet only to have a science ship snatched, so dumped my alloys into that asap. Only 2208 and I almost have the fleet ready to go, but man has it put me behind.
