I'm guessing that the city was closer to the port before they shrunk them, but yeah it should be much further to the east, near where the golden horn is IRL.

I'm guessing the one on the right is for the country, the one on the left for the fortification (or maybe the city?)

This looks amazing, I love the new map look and reduced city sprawl size!
Now we only need some lovely walls encircling all these beautiful cities and some more unique 3D buildings, and (in the future) some more cultural graphics variety.
Then it would be perfect in my opinion.
That being said, amazing work by the team, I can't wait to play this game myself!

I like what I'm seeing. Sure, the Queen of cities can do with a bit of tailor made Buildings and layout but the map really is coming together and I think I can live with the choice to go for generic at release and save this kind of specific effort for later. Definitely hoping for sooner rather then later though, still hoping for that purple Phoenix preorder dlc.
Am I correct in assuming that like for character and background designs you are committing to the same 7 cultuur groups for cities in the map (Han, Deccan, Syrian, north German, some African I can't remember, Aztec and north American)? This then would be a North German culture city?

Paradox map design absolutely peaked with Imperator, it should have been reused for everything afterwards.
