Has anybody here tried the new KB5058499 Windows 11 Preview update?

Apparently this is one of the fixes mentioned:

Which sounds promising, but I haven't tried the update myself yet to test it.

I updated and was able to finally get in. Though, I've had times where I was able to load into the game a few times without a lockup only to have it stop working later that day - so who knows.

I have been playing for 20 years now as king of Hungary, no crashes or freezes. I am only using 3 mods (rename everyone 1.16, nameplates and patrum scuta), just to be save.

The game also runs smooth.

It is looking good! :)

Well it improved a lot. In my current game, they game frooze three times, in just over 70 years.

Two times when I tried to open the barbershop and one time, during an activity.

I would say it is a big improvement.

This update fixed the issue, I am very happy. 24H2 shouldn't have even been launched in the sad state it was released, one would expect better from one of the richest companies in the world.

6 hours of playtime yesterday and no issues

it's safe to say the issue has finally been fixed, it only took 8 months

EDIT: Nevermind, spoke too soon, it happened today. strange I had a long session yesterday without it happening, but today it did the usual freezing up the entire computer.

I have the same when opening the game mainly, only from time to time, not everyday. Usually the hard pc reset helps, but still all the work which was on the other screen is gone.

Same. It worked fine yesterday after the windows update then crashed again today, its insane this has been happening for 8 months and they still can't do anything about it.

I saw posts saying it didn't work again and lo and behold, it's freezing my entire computer again. Very awesome, I was excited that I might be able to actually play the game again. Looks like I continue to wait.

This is getting absolutely ridiculous. Just look at the Steam discussions, CK3 reviews, and forum bug reports - a vast number of players are experiencing hard locks during gameplay or even when trying to start the game. I know it’s supposedly caused by Windows - I've heard that excuse a thousand times by now - but Paradox must have some control over this.

Victoria 3 doesn’t hard lock. EU4 doesn’t hard lock. Stellaris doesn’t hard lock. HOI4 doesn't hard lock. So why, after the recent DLC, is CK3 the only one suffering from this issue?

There has to be some way to patch this.

This actually started since the 24H2 update, I remember dealing with this issue all the way back in December last year and I didn't know what was causing it, I thought my PC was dying until I saw many people complaining about the same issue.
