This is just the new thing Vic needs to liven it up. Dongola looks just the way it should.

Does the complete map put together mean that Xie been able to calculate the densities for the different regions, to know if everything fits on the map? Is the suggestion period closed?

yes suggestions are closed. We are out of tags.

Congratulations for finishing this. It's so awesome that finally there's going be a proper map for VR.
So that the map is finished/nearly finished can you tell us a release date?
It doesn't have to be precise "two weeks/one month/two months" etc. would.
And will the next version of VIP include this awesome map?

I'm 100% certain that this doesn't mean the map is finished, or anywhere nearly finished for that matter.
This just means the final design is finished, now the real map making begins. First of all you have to convert the lightmaps and so forth, so they work in game. After that's done you have to rewrite almost all files in the game, so they are made aware of the new map.

I hope the team will ask for some outside help with this, or else i fear it will never be finished.
I for one would be happy to help.

Edit: If i remember correctly OH stated that they are making the map for vanilla revolutions, I hope that we can include it in VIP as well. It really would be a natural part of the MOD, After all it is called the Victoria Improvement Project.

Initially, the map will just be for Vanilla Victoria. I think OH said he would be working from the VIP POP files, however, which are pretty universally agreed to be an improvement on the Vanilla ones.

EDIT: Though the map should TOTALLY become the default for VIP.

I have a question about Bornholm. On your last map this province has no nameplate (or I just don't see it, Bornholm and nearest sea zone province have both purple color), but it could be too small to click on it when you'll have any army there so maybe you should add nameplate to this province. You've added nameplate to Memel province which is few times bigger.

From our estimates, given that Bornholm is isolated, we think it is going to be big enough to not need a nameplate. Memel has one more becuase it is so narrow that sprites really will make it difficult to click on. Bornholm we think will still have some overlap.

However, if after testing we find it will need one, then one can fairly readily be added in. But we have tried to keep the number of nameplates to a minimum.

I don't know is it just me who feel this, the map of Europe looks abit kind of flat and stretch-out(left right) after staring at it for a few minutes (considering German Empire and Austria-Hungary, UK looks obviously kind of fat)

Considering this maps:

It's a function of the projection that is the base of the map. Europe, and Northern Europe in particular, will look "stretched" in comparison with various other projections

The map used in Paradox games is very geographically inaccurate and Europe is very much out of proportion. for example, compare the sizes of France and Algeria in any map, now go and compare them in any Paradox games, Europe is tremendously oversized.

This can be done in the .inc files, or via event. It is nothing specific to the map project particularly.

nope, i mean those territories as provinces made available in the game map. note that they are quite different from those land division and borders today.

The significant territorial land masses are represented from what I can see. As for having cores on these territories, etc... this can be done in the .inc files or via events, as I said.

nope, like the area in purple its not posible, and the Aksai Chin, Nefa area
