So now the game have changed publisher, will this have any affect on the release date?

Well first it was set to 2008 Q4, then later sat to 2009 Q1.
But with the new announces it seems it might end up being pushed to 2009 Q4

I thought September was part of the 3rd Quarter:), or did I not read the news release closely enough.

Cheers.
Greg.

Edit:
Never paid much attention to end of video on the EIC site. Looks like they will need a new ending. States "Worldwide Release Q1 2009":)

hello,

in germany the best time to release eic is in the next few weeks, because in the tv they show pirates ot the caribbean
so i think there are many people here in germany who looks forward a game that is play in the time of pirates and so on
so i think eic will get more attention when people watch the movies the next weeks, at least in germany

with nice greets from germany

fsxxx

Haha! This is true somewhat... like... after watching some film to do with that period you want to play a game involving that period haha! :D Like after wtaching James Bond... wanting to play as James Bond on one of those games... or even wanting to be him, as the case may be... :eek:o :D

i remember after i watched potc when it came out and i hoped there come out a game with ship battles and so on
and then the game released and i looked for other games with ship battles and so with more trading and building and so i found partician2, port royale2,aop and so on
sometimes a movie give you the idea too look at games which a bit similar the movie or the time era
and so my interest for those games grow up :)

Yeah definitely! After the POTC game I was hoping for a realistic map... and here comes EIC! :)

Anyway... I would be glad for the designers to spend all of this 'extra' time making the game flawless, as opposed to E:TW which is apparently (I haven't got it yet) full of loads of bugs. If this game could be released with practically zero bugs just by spending a few more months than was expected fine tuning things, then I'd say that is more than acceptable.

I'm for a finished game that with lots of gameplay and original material and that will create a new franchise, than a rushed cut down game that will fade into history as soon as it is released because it’s an oversimplified version or full of bugs.

the news of the eic page:
East India Company is scheduled for release in Q3 2009 and will be published worldwide by Paradox Interactive and will also be available on leading digital distribution platforms.

so a late release date, we have to wait for the game a long time but if it will be without bugs and new features then i wait gladly
a demo version in Q2 2009 will be a nice thing^^

Q3 is going to be a big quarter for Paradox, as they are also planning to release HoI3 during the same quarter. Of course, this can be a wide range of months, from July to September. I'm very excited for the summer!
