Hi,

I'm playing the allies in the 1936 campaign.

It is april 1937 and the allies have decided to make an early strike on Italy. I placed 22 Republican Spanish allied divisions in Sollum, Egypt and 19 British divisions in Rabia ready to attack.

Then something happens after I declare war. The armies magically become South African and I lose the Spanish. What's going on here with this glitch?

Which country are you playing?

If the armies belonged to one of your allies, then they were probably lent to South Africa as Expeditionary Forces (since the South African capital is on that continent, unlike yours or Spain's).

Lent?

So if they were lent to South Africa would they disappear right away? Also, I'm playing France and we assumed military control over Spain. Would they be allowed to send an expeditionary force if I control them?

If SR-ed, yes.

Yes.

Even if they are sent as a South African Expeditionary Force would the nationality of the units change from Spanish to South African?
The flags would change, yes. Haven't you ever watched the AI-Dutch units change to AI-French flags when lent to France during the May 1940 invasion?

Nope, never experienced this before. But you've been a great help! Now I understand what is going on.

Would it help prevent the change from Spanish to South African if France assumed military control over the South Africans too?

Not sure... but if the South Africans do have them, that would put the Divisions back under your control, anyway.
