I have a problem... I start the game (Everything works fine.) as SU everything goes fine but some time after the event in which i get a ship with a complicated name I get a black screen and an error. (The one that asks me if I want to send info to Microsoft.) :(

What could be wrong?

(Oh, and I get the corrupted file thingy too. I install the graphic pack (B&W) and I get at the end of the install.)

EDIT: Well, I loaded my save game and everything was okay but the game went black screen again. It seems like it's random.

Any chance of a Doomsday compatiable version?

This would require considerable work to strip out all mentions of naval brigades, etc, as well as espionage related stuff. I think it's unlikely we would produce such, although I don't think we'd have any objection if someone wanted to undertake that task themselves. But it would be a large task - much easier to upgrade to Armageddon and then get the 1.3b2 patch.

Just as a headsup, Mac players can't play this mod yet because it relies on the 1.3b version of Armageddon, which has not yet been ported to the Mac AFAIK

Alas, this is true. However, you could certainly try running it with the earlier versions of ARM on the mac - you might get some of the bugs that were there before, and you'd get the previous spy system (which means you'd ideally need to go into the INC files and uncomment the spies in other countries to make it work better), as well as amend the misc file to remove the items that the 1.3 beta patch added. It should be doable, but I can't test any such things myself, as I don't have a mac, so couldn't say for sure which bits might need amending for it to work (or at the least, function...)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU GOOD WORK!! i love you

Probably a stupid question, but:

Should I install the graphics pack into the Doomssay folder or into the mod-CORE2 folder?

Thanks!

Install it into the Armageddon folder because the installer is set up to install Armageddon/Core mod folder. So it actually puts the files into the Core folder but make sure the target destination is the Armageddon folder (otherwise it will install the gfx into a CORE folder within the CORE folder)

I'm probably too stupid to play this mod (great, by the way)... but I miss something.
I don't get to research several stuff I want. I can't recall all of them right now (sorry, it's late and I need to go to sleep), but for example i can't research '40 fighter tec... it's really weard: I researched '38 fighter, and it seems to me I have all the other requested techs... and by the way it's not that it's blur out like if I need to research something else in order to unblock the tech, it's crossed out like if I cannot research that tech period.
I repeat, I'm sure even in other field happens the same way, only right now I cannot recall the exact techs... what I'm missing?

Sorry if:
a) my english is bad;
b) I didn't explain the problem too well;
c) this was already asked and/or I missed something so clear that anybody else could easly see

Thanks and, seriously: compliments!

okay, either i'm doing something wrong or something is wrong with this mod...i've been playing CORE for a long time, so I was excited to see this come out...however, while playing Germany when the invade denmark and norway event fires, i seize control of denmark, then france attacks me via freidburg, they attack with 30 or so divisons, and I take my 48 divisions on the belgian border and flank them through strasbourg, destroy all of the invaders and then attack Metz with about 30 or so divisons, which is defended by 5 divisons. the attack fails. these were my best divisions, armored and mobile infantry all with armored brigades, full strength, full organization, how could they have failed in their attack? I don't understand. okay metz has 8 land fortifications, so I move my 30 divisons through belgium, and try attacking arlon through bastogne, which is lightly defended. the attack is halted again...

Im getting CTD bugged playing a handsoff game as Cuba. The CTD happens on multiple different saves but it occurs about 2 weeks after Vichy France is released. I can't link it to any certain event. Just a headsup. It's repeatable and I can't continue my game but it's no biggy.

Hi,

Fighters: 1940 Fighter is "deactivated" at game start. You need to research 1939 Electronics in order to unlock this tech. All of the Electronics techs activate other techs for research so this is extremely important to pursue Electronics research in CORE if you want modern Air units.

Combat: Version 0.40 is set up to be much harder to attack than previous versions. This is the main reason the development took so long. We essentially tried the old wargame standard of 3-1 for near certain success and then backed it off a bit to a level where we felt the AI was capable of performing. So it is critical to have overwhelming force if you want an attack to finish rapidly. It is also critical that you don't have anything hurting your combat efficiency as the new model is much less forgiving. Things like bad weather or being over command max are much bigger issues now.

Not seeing exactly what you did makes it hard to judge what the issue was. With Metz it is almost certainly a combination of Fortifications and being Dug In. Also of note is that ARM/LARM are extremely poor for assaulting Fortifications (and generally are hurt far more by all terrain than infantry type units) so that would be an issue as well. With Arlon it could be ESE as Bastogne has very poor Infrastructure. I'd suggest monitoring the tooltips to see what your relative strengths and weaknesses are. This might shed some light on the problem. Hope this helped!

Hi,

This is something that had cropped up during development but we thought it was fixed. Not the best of news. It may take a few trys to get beyond this but hopefully it will be possible to continue if you try a few times. We will lok into this further.

I got the LXES checksum, installed the black and white graphics, and it seems like a lot of the unit's icons are messed up (some are missing). My '35 infantry as the UK and GER come up as 1947, reserve come up as something else.

Did I mess up the graphics install?

Tech pictures and everything else work fine, the models just don't seem to match up.

Edit: model PICTURES work fine, but the little icon when you produce or click on a division will say, "1947 infantry".

I think the problem is that it is using vanilla ones not the NATO symbols you guys use

Yep, those are vanilla's. Could you check your mod-CORE2\gfx\interface\models directory? It should contain images like the model_0_5.bmp. Germany, having 9btn divisions, uses the 0_5 up to 0_9 model range.

ill_div_yug_28_2 Is the last image in the folder. It is loading up the vanilla icons because for some reason the pack didn't have the CORE models.

I'll re-download it and see if it works.

If you can zip a save and upload it into Mantis we could study it more closely. Since none of the Betas ran into this (only Dec did during his test) it's probably a low-chance event choice that's triggering it. But a save would be most helpful.

okay, i've tried what you suggest, i try attacking antwerp, which has no fortifications and good infrastructure, still no luck even with overwhelming forces...this doesn't make any sense to me. it's like fighting ww1.

@ Warhawk,

Make sure you are using as much air support in the province you are attacking to help reduce the organisation of the enemy units. Also, attacking from more than one province also helps reduce your penalties. Also keep in mind the type of terrain you are attacking from and into, as well as rivers and forts.
Another tactic is to attack in other places along the front to tie down the units there, so that the enemy can't send them to assist in the major effort.

I'm sure you'll get the hang of the combat eventually. It's a challenge but by no means impossible. Using all available elements to assist your attack, as in real life, to punch through and then exploit a fluid situation with the enemy organisation greatly lowered as they retreat.

 This has been out for over 12 hours and I didn't know!

Downloading now. This should keep me busy for a few days at least. Thanks for all the hard work, and thanks for putting up with us for so long.
