As far as I understood, if I research for example Armor IV, without having Armor III, I should get access to Armor III automatically when finishing Armor IV, right?
This doesn't seem to happen in my playthrough, and not just with armor.
I've researched so many III, or IV techs, and still the same II techs appear in my research-screen, and in my ship-designer I have only access to IV-Modules, but not to the II-Modules, or III-Modules.
No mods used, or anything, just the vanilla Nova-Edition.
Is this intentional, or is this a bug?
The screenshots are in german, but I think the icons should explain everything regardless.
Here are two examples.
