So yeah,

I can't upload the saves for whatever reason, but I'm attaching a video of me explaining everything

Really annoys me because I have to wait TEN years before I can kill those god damned outposts they keep building!!

Hi Shootemout!

Thank you for reporting this issue to us and uploading a video so I could take a look at it.
The reason why the war suddenly ended was due to you didn't have any demands.
If you take a look at 1:11 you can see that you don't have any demands and thus the AI could peace out, since you didn't demand anything.

When someones declares war against you (a defensive war) a tooltip should have appeared that says;
"Missing War Demands"
You have one year to set the demands you want and you can do this in two ways.
Either selecting the tooltip or Selecting the war icon, go to the negotiate tab and then selecting "Set demands".

I hope this clears out, if not feel free to ask me anything and I will try to explain it better!
Regards,
Leo

Later on in the video, I did actually set a demand and it still happened either way. Around the 2:13 mark.

However, I appreciate the response this was something that I was unaware of! A problem I was running into at the time though was that I unable to declare a war goal before I started the war and during the war I was unable to set any because I had not earned enough warscore.

Edit: I just realized it was an unfortunate save file then because could it have been possible that the save (which was ironman) was too close to the "year" date and was unable to set it as a goal before the final date?

Aha! That is really interesting, you found out another bug actually!

In the 2:13, those aren't your demands, those are the Enemy empires demands (as you offering to "Liberate" your planet Al-Jissa)
Can you upload your savefile to us, and we will take a closer look at why the Enemy empire doesn't "accept" your "defeat".
Thanks!

I may have just boned myself because right after that last part I actually ended up clicking on "Exit to Desktop". So the save I'm uploading is a day after the war "ended" but I also included the logs with it as well, wasn't sure what to put in so I just put it all in.

Also it happened to me again earlier where I was in the middle of the war, (with the same nation by the way just 10 years later) and I demanded the 2 planets (at the time they had 3.) I had a wargoal set, but then all of a sudden a year after the war start date, it just gave me the planets and I hadn't even occupied them! If you need more files lemme know and I'll gladly provide them.

Edit: I should probably clarify: The save I uploaded is 1 day after the first bug. I attempted to upload it in the original post but was met with an error each time. So I just kept it in my documents until I could.

Hmm, that sounds also really odd. I will take a closer look at it in your save if i can manage to recreate it.
Thank you so much for attaching it so we can "QA" around in it! :)

Leo
