Hi,

I posted this problem to the bug forum when I probably should have placed it here:)
Here's the problem; I'm playing as USA and I consistently get a CTD when the clock rolls from November 7th to November 8th, 1944, at midnight. I have reloaded several saves of the same game and they all CTD at the same point in time. I have checked research due dates and military unit completion dates and none of them fall on November 8th, 1944.
I am using 1.03 NA patch with no mods. The best I can tell, it seems that some date related event is causing this CTD every time. I am using:

2100 Mhz Athlon, 513MB RAM, DirectX8.1, GEForce TI 4200, 16 bit color depth 1024X768.

I checked the USA config files and it appears that November 8th is an election date. Could this be the problem? In any case, I do have save games available to send if someone can help me track this problem down. I would hate to lose hours of time invested in this game. Thanks.

Sounds like a bug to me, so we will let the Bug forum handle it for now. If they tell you different post back here.

Problem solved!

Someone else had this same problem and posted a fix to it in the bug forum.
This CTD is caused by the USA election on November 8th, 1944. It can also affect other countries apparently and cause them to CTD.
The fix is to find the USA.txt file in the events folder and move the file to another directory. Substitute a blank USA.txt file, get past November 8th, 1944, then replace the old USA.txt file back into the folder.
I suspect some other people may run into this problem so I decided to post it here.

Thanks for the info.

It is probably the same problem, so I would try the solution as presented above.

I am having an almost identical problem, playing as America. I had a CTD on Nov 8 1940, but used the bank USA.txt fix to get around it. But now, I have a ctd on Dec 12, 1940, and creating a blank USA.txt isn't solving the problem. Any thoughts?

I am not up on that bug but it sounds the same, post it in the bug forum where the info on the other one is and maybe someone can help.
