1.03 patching problem

Castellan you seem to be all-knowing. See if you can help with this.
when I try to install the 1.03 patch it says I have an invalid version of HOI.editor. The publisher is staregyfirst so I got the 1.03 patch from them. I've uninstalled, reinstalled and repatched...same error. I have 2 case #'s for tech support but no answers. They suggested I have a newer vesion and to give them the cd serial number..but no response in a week. Prty sure I need the patch, saw the 1.03 readme and have noticed some of the bugs and errors which need to be fixed. Love the game but desperately need the patch to make the AI tougher as well as smarter. Hope there's a 1.04 on the way soon, If nothing else.

By the way when 1.03 didnt work tried 1.01, error said I had an invalid version of HOI.EXE , fortunately 1.02 patch worked.

Welcome to the forums, sorry your first post had to be in this forum.

I know I have seen this problem before, just do not remember what the solution was, It may have even been SF that contacted me about it. I tried to search the forum on it but the search is FUBAR right now so no luck.

The only thing I can suggest off the top of my head, is to look in the self help sticky thread and notice that #1 is a link to uninstall instructions. Follow them and make sure all trace of HOI is wiped from your system. Then do a fresh install and try 1.03.

I will see what else I can come up with if that does not work.

Uninstall the game delete the dir. Install Hoi. Install latest patch. fixed.

Thanxs for the input, gentlemen. Fortunately 1.03b worked like a charm. No worries....Now if only I can get some of Bolt's Mod's to work with the latest patch....

Glad everything worked out.
Wait for new mods designed for 1.03b that way there will be no compatability problems.
