Basic School History 3 : The history of WW2 part one, 1936-1937.

Chapter 1 : The Road to War

The future is strange and unpredictable. On Dec 31st, 1935, no-one saw what was coming, but the next day, it was all too clear. The great emperor of Japan ordered that all islands double their industrial capacity by Jan 1st the next year (as well as improvements all over the empire). Several new research projects were also ordered as well as a couple new infantry divisions. In his great wisdom the emperor also decreed that no supplies for the army were to be produced. All 55 or so divisions were also to group together as one invincible horde in north Korea (If it wasn’t for the fact that as the supplies ran out the troops got so disorganized that a single peasant with a stick could have routed them).
Also, miraculously overnight the Emperor of Japan had become best friends with the Führer of Germany and Il’ Duce of Italy. So good friends were they that they decided to share all technology they might find use of. It is rumored that the evil Imperialists in France, the UK, USA and USSR also became best friends. As the emperor said “Indeed the evil nations can be spotted by the fact that they use initials as their country. Japan shall indeed never be known as J.”
The honorific military increases by the Axis of Good continued the Emperor of Japan came with a brilliant plan which he proposed to his great allies “Noble allies. The USA continues it wicked ways. They have built no new troops, nor much land technology. This can only mean they are creating WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION! For the good of all mankind we must disarm them.”, whereupon his allies responded with great awe and congratulated the Japanese Emperor on his brilliance. Certain evil propaganda sources claim this discussion was more along the lines of “Hey, the USA has only 4 div’s, let’s invade them. I have 20 transports,” and the reply would have been “I don’t have enough transports, impossible, we must wait, DoW’ing now is stupid anyway,” these lies continued by claiming that the Japanese Emperor argued back that “Look, they have 4 divisions, I have 20 transports. If I didn’t have to pretend this was a democracy I would invade myself. Unless we win now we’ll never win!”, which caused the Europeans to agree to the attack as long as they had the time to build transports. These are ofcourse utter lies by evildoers from the Allies of Evil.
In other pre-war development the brilliance of Japanese Emperor allowed him to create a non-aggression pact with the USSR. As a sign of trust to the Soviets the Japanese Emperor decreed that 22 divisions guard Korea in the mountains. To show their gratitude to the emperor for this action several business owners gave their companies to the state. As a sign of remarkable Japanese cunning they gave them several months in advance, even before first talks of non-aggression were discussed.
It must be noted though that the USSR are an evil nation. Even though the pact agreements stated that 3 land or artillery techs were to be shared by Japan to the USSR, they got insulted when we sent them schematics for Battleship main cannons. They even blatantly refused to accept them as parts of the 3 techs to share. Indeed nations which use initials instead of full names are evil.

Chapter 2 : Initial troop placements

The magnificent Japanese plan called for the Marshall Islands to be used as the staging point for the liberation of America (The operation was named “Operation American Freedom). 32 divisions where placed there, of which 9 were glorious cavalry, a type of unit which had shown it’s strength for thousands of years. Indeed several glorious strategic retreats were masterfully executed by the cavalry during the course of the war…
Also the entire Japanese surface fleet (Under command of Vice Admiral C. Nagumo) was ordered to escort the transports, while the submarine fleet was allowed the honor of training right outside Vladivostok.
As the Japanese navy sailed to the coast of Mexico (As all paranoid evildoers suspect the worst when they see an invasion fleet anchored outside their coast usually get prepared to fight for their regime), where it brilliantly chose to wait until the Italian fleet moved to position.
Also, a month or so before all this started, the president of the USA spoke in front of his congress stating that “WAR is coming…” The US propaganda claim he was referring to Axis warmongering and even such a blatant lie that Japan was planning to attack China. But the Japanese Intelligence service gloriously found out that the US president actually was planning to use WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION on the innocent Axis of Good as he said that.

Chapter 3 : Shock and Awe

And suddenly, once a formal alliance had been signed between Germany, Japan and Italy, the German Reich declared war the USA. The date was Jan 9, 1937 to be precise. The following was said by the Emperor in a radio broadcast : “Oh great Japanese people. As the Sushi must be eaten by a human, so must the USA be eaten as Sushi. We can no longer accept this blatant development of nuclear weapons done by the USA. Even as I speak our mighty fleet is moving outside that wretched hive of scum and villainy known as Los Angeles, moving to commence operation American Freedom. I ask you to ask less in terms of early wealth in the coming days, as we are liberating America.” And the Japanese people followed their great emperor, and demanded only half as much consumer goods as before.
Indeed the forces of the USA were both in shock and awe. All resistance was mercifully crushed as displayed on the map below.

'Map of Invasion should be here. It is not. Shit happens.'

(Yellow for Japan, Green for Italy and Grey for Germany

While the Japanese and Italian offensives were superb accomplishments, including several excellent cavalry maneouvres, where the cavalry would engage first, heavily damage the enemy after which it (the cavalry) would execute a strategic withdrawal in excellent trained disarray (This sort of withdrawal was popular to train when there were no supplies for the army during he summer) , and the Japanese forces surrounding the US defenders around Seattle in the winter, letting them freeze. Numerous attempts to aid the US forces by moving in to them to supply were met with snowballs, which insulted the generals and made them withdraw. Unluckily several people deserted, and some divisions even vanished altogether during these aid missions!
Also as the crew of the ships based in LA saw the Japanese liberators they happily joined the rightful cause. Unfortunentaly the evil US admiral called Nimiz sunk several of the ships a few days later outside LA, but he was soon punished with a decimation of his navy by the surface fleet of the IJN. Later the remnants of this fleet of evil was sunk by the Germans in the east.
However the Germans were less fortunate in their land war. Up to a hundred thousand men held fanatical defence in Washington. There are reports of 5 Soviet divisions fighting our German friends there. Indeed, their futile resistance was so fanatical that the German forces were unable to take Washington.
Other happenings during this period included the fall of all US pacific islands. The Japanese troops who did the liberating were impressed by the effort the US had put into building them. Fortunately not a single US soldier was to be found on any of these islands and the valiant Axis troops were able to easily take them all. Also Indochina was taken from France in a stunning maneouvre including 2 divisions. Indeed it appears the on division that was there vanished into thin air after the great Emperor had been occupied with the US situation.

Chapter 4 : The Allies of Evil strike back

In the summer of 1937 the luck turned for the Germans. Several counter attacks from Washington and Canada were launched, eventually surrounding a German army in Philadelphia. After heroic resistance the which caused countless casualties to the evildoers the German soldiers were forced to surrender. Not one word has been heard from then since that, and the worst must b feared. Indeed this unfortunate event increased the resolve of all Axis troops. Some time thereafter the same happened in Norfolk. This event too increased to more all the German army in America. In an interview the German army in America said “I’m really happy I got transferred to this Italian division. I have found several new friends here and am learning two new languages”
In response to the new situation in America which as developed not necessarily to Japan’s interests the Emperor ordered the valiant troops in western USA to move eastwards, and for 12 new divisions to be shipped from our national areas. While the troops from western USA haven’t reached the border yet, where they’ll surely defeat the allies of evil, the 12 divisions from Japan were able to successfully stall Soviet forces in Atlanta for a long time before returning to their transports.

Wow!
What a weird game :)
Please keep us updated on the further liberation Progress....
(did the rest of the War stall [in Europe etc.] or did everything go as usual sofar?)

By the way is it possible that MSS (the information Minister..) was working for the Japanese Emperor back then? :D

Unfortunentally not all players showed up, and as the game won't be continued, neither will this AAR. Still any and all comments are welcome.
