1.05: Capital torpedoes not possible with heavy cruisers

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but you can't use the capital torpedoes brigade on heavy cruisers. I tried this with the Japanese, who had quite a lot of success with their torpedo armed cruisers during WW2, but you can only add them to battleships or battlecruisers, most of which didn't have them any more during WW2. Am I to assume that the stats for torpedoes are included in the overall stats of heavy cruisers, or is this an oversight?

You can't add this brigade to your CAs simply because they're no longer activated for that naval unit type. Go to the db/units/divisions and open the heavy_cruiser.txt file. At the beginning of the file are all available brigades listed. The capital torpedoes brigade is atm deactivated but you can simply activate it by removing the # at the beginning of its line. Once you've researched the required tech you can equip your CAs with the capital torpedoes brigade.

Yeah, we deactivated it because the effect given by the attachment is not very "accurate" or flavourful. We have an idea or two to bring such attachments back with better effects, but it's on the (long) list waiting to get done...

Yes, the stats of the torpedo-attachment are not that overwhelming. Giving them more importance for scoring critical hits might be a good idea. It'd be rather cool to actually see those Long Lance torpedoes make a difference in the game.
