1.05 made Byzantine marriages impossible

I cannot marry away my courtiers (or most annoyingly my sons and daughters) without deleting the game and reinstalling it without the patch.

Marriages only work with catholic nations now.

Can I do anything to bypass this without deleting and reinstalling the game?

Huh? Please give some more info.

You should be able to arrange marriages for any members of your dynasty to any christian (catholic or orthodox).

In version 1.0 you could arrange marriages for all courtiers, but this was changed in a later patch.

Is that the issue you mean, or are you referring to something else?

When I start any game with byzantium, I find that I can click on the arrange marriage screen, but that there are no courtiers on the list. Even when i try and arrange a marriage between the female courtiers in my court and male courtiers from my vassals courts, the list that pops up once u hit "arrange marriage" is blank.

In the first few seconds, one might think that this is because there simply are no one to marry off, but then the marriage offers come crashing in from all over the world basicly.

Are these courtiers of your dynasty (same last name)? If not, this is normal.
You can only arrange marriages for your own dynasty. Not for others.

Hmm... didn't think that was the case. I had hoped to give the crown prince a good wife from my court, but now that you mention it, none of my female courtiers share my last name.

Guess I should just be a little more patient, then. Thanks for clearing this up, too jordarkelf. Now, I both need not worry about a german danish royal line or the lack of byzantine marriage proposals.
