In my last game (two players over network) we managed to get mutiple wifes for some of our courtiers (and ourselves). And we even shared a wife (but she got all the kids...).

The way to go:

Wait till Dec. 30th. and pause the game. Set autosave to yearly. Ask about everyone you know if he want to become your wife. Set gasme speed to maximum. Unpause the game and there you go... Works everytime but the result varies.

In single player it doesn't work with your regent and your oldest daughter because the game pauses so you can take duty.

It seems like the game is not fast enough to save those marriages to the database (or whatever) and so doesn't check those before accpeting the other offers.

Tested on a 2.4ghz (host and singleplayer) and 1.8ghz (client) on 100Mbit-Lan.

There is nothing that can be done with it, it would mean changing the whole event engine. So I'll call it a feature

Okay. Well, it is kind of funny. Having 9 wives is good. Having 22 kids when you are only 25 is very nice.

It may be an exploit but every exploit means that there is a bug that allows it.

Since the bug is easy to avoid it is not an evil thing. But at least it is nice to know how to increase the size of your court without starting to edit any files. ;D

It's an easy bug to avoid, but can be "exploited" to lead to multiple wives, which was somewhat realistic among certain cultures at the time. I don't think it's that bad.

The worst that could happen is not having multiple wifes but having wifes that have multiple husbands. You impregnate them but don't get the child. You get all those "your wife only wants your money" events and so on... Hmm... sounds realistic.
