Please this thread on-topic, thank you. We already know lots of people don't have this problem.

I think thats a pretty important information actually.
If you have a rare case, that means we cannot recreate it without for example your savegame.
Please attach savegame, so we have an earthly chance to see what went wrong in your game.

Please this thread on-topic

I do not understand your comment given that my point was absolutely 100% on topic. The event chain did NOT -- repeat NOT -- cause a CTD in any of the eight 106A3 handsoff playtests that I have run, and Germany was annexed in each and every one of them. That's not to say that it cannot happen, but you would need to attach a savegame to see if your issue can be recreated on someone else's install on a different computer.

Hi Lennartos, Savegame attached.
Apologies Gringoesteban, I meant that hands-off is ok for testing but it is not the same as playing manually through game to test fully.

I had a CTD as USA, but I believe the crash was because the script couldn't reconcile USA being at war with Soviet Union, Germany, and UK + Allies all at once. (World conquest as USA). When the surrender event fired it crashed in the middle of the sequence, right about where Austria and the two Germanies are released. Presumably also France is supposed to be released, right? Wouldn't work if USA was occupying and at war?

@Syntalynder

I inspected your save and it seems you left something out. Something rather important.

You were playing a mod. DVD-ITs 1944 Revised Mod to be exact. And one of the things the mod has overhauled is Germany surrendering.

Since a Germany surrender CTD in the standard 1944 scenario version should and would have been reported by now, more than 6 months after the game release, it's likely this CTD is due to the modding and not due to a fault in the game engine.

Now, I will put the savegame under the microscope and will relay to DVD-IT any probs, but remember that technically this shouldn't be my problem since the CTD appeared while playing a mod and is likely due to the mod script.

I didn't realize this was a mod savegame. I apologise completely. I reported this because it looked weird that no others reported this.

Of course, if I had realized it was a mod I would never have reported this. So sorry guys. Thank you for replying Radu.
