Hi!

Do anyone know how to update the game when having the Gamersgate version and using a Mac? The launcher only links to an .exe file. Hopefully something will happen soon, as I cannot wait to install SoI DLC as well.

I'm very sorry, but the non-steam mac version will be delayed for a while. We hope to get it up tomorrow. There are few issues we could not solve in time.

The graphics card issues are still being worked on unfortunately, so they will hopefully be in the next patch, but not this one. We have had to buy some new hardare to be able to reproduce the issues, so it has been a longer process than it should have been. Very sorry about that.
 
again, very good to know and thanks for the response. i've played a whole game already with flickering graphics and freeze ups every half hour, i don't see why 1.06 should be any different.
 
Same as Costevie, I have played through a game and a half with flickering graphics, memory leak and freeze ups. I am just very happy that you guys is working on a solution that hopefully would enhance many of us mac players experience. Keep up the work! :D
 
you know, i realize that i'm not sure anyone ever asked: will SoI also be released for mac tomorrow? or is tomorrow just (hopefully) 1.06 and the DLC comes later?
 
Also pleased to hear that you guys are working on it. Had some freezeups that iced my Mac and forced a restart recently, which is why I've been hesitant to start a Mac-based AAR.

The gamersgate version of everything we released today will be arriving as soon as possible, at the same time. The delay is caused by the same issues for patch as well as DLC's.

And thanks for being honest with us about the graphics not being fixed. Magenta oceans I can live with, but I cannot live through a lie! I'll be playing it the second it comes out though. Saladin!
 
Hopefully the graphics card fix will deal with the overheating issue... when I tried playing with a new top-of-the-line iMac (2 gig Radeon 6970M), after a few minutes of play the fans were going full blast. I have to play the PC version under Parallels or Boot Camp instead.

is this a pain to do? because i'd love to play the game unencumbered but am not the most computer savvy person in the world so never really considered running boot camp or anything, but if it's fairly simple i may just go that route until the mac issues get sorted out
 
Because I have the intel 3000HD graphics, I have been playing CKII on my mac with wine and it was almost perfect, now i downloaded this 1.06 and it's not working anymore, it crashes while it's loading in "creating border". Somebody knows whats wrong?

Paradox can't help with problems running in Wine. You should post in the Wine-specific threads that kind people have started.

Note that you CAN play the Mac version on the HD3000 as long as you can put up with an awful terrain map - edit settings.txt to say draw_terrain=no
