I just bought this game and am trying to install the 1.07 North America patch but when I run it is says "Europa Universalis II is not already installed on this machine."

I've installed the game and it works fine. I checked the registry keys and the directories there are listed correctly. Is there anyway I can tell the installer where my game installation is?

I'm using windows XP
I should point out that I have partitioned my hard drive and the OS is installed in a different drive from the rest of my software. So default install drive for applications is the OS drive but then I manually change it to the applications drive. I've never had a problem with this setup before so I don't see why it should be an issue.

EDIT
my installed game version is 1.04

Are you sure you have the correct patch, Who is the publisher of your game? ie, who's logo is on the CD, should be three of them, Paradox and who else?

Nevermind

It turns out I have the british copy of the game. I installed the patch and it's fine now.

Sorry for wasting you time and thanks for your help. You can delete this thread now.

P.S.
Since the game distribution region is so important maybe you should state it somewhere where it's easy for people to see.

Patches actually go by publisher, and their logo is on the CD!

The fact that you are in NA and got a Euro copy, well, the retailer is doing something shady.
