I've been playing the German version since patch 1.03 but this is something new to me. With recent patch 1.07c the auto-save option doesn't work properly anymore. I can't load the auto-saved games in any situation and sometimes the saving itself crashes. Nothing seems to help. Every time I try to load EU shuts down and I'm back to desktop.


So is this something common?? Is this new? Is this intentional? hmm I guess not :)

I just checked Hartmanns life-line(to do...) and noticed Sytass having similar problems. Anyothers??

I have not had any specific autosave-related crashes (maybe since I have never tried to load one), but I have found the autosave to be a bit semi-automatic. My autosave has about a 3 out of 4 average to actually save the game...
 
This is getting out of hands.


First it was random crashes with auto-saving. Now it's crashes with normal saving too.... What is the point playing anymore if everytime I play I have to start the GC from the beginning???


This is a worst type of bug I can think of. This will not let me finish the games in any convenient way. Only option is to play for some 30 hours straight without saving in the middle. Sure I can do that once in a month but hey I want that save option anyway! ;)
 
Maybe it's just me but even after reinstalling the game it crashes back to desktop while trying to save. And only after the latests patch.

Or is it Hartmanns ICG which I've played as swedes??

Or is it the swedes them selves??

No, really, if you want to make a test, re-install the game, the latest patches, but DON'T install the IGC and try it with the normal GC and see. If it doesn't crash, it safe to assume that something wasn't jiving between your installation and the IGC.

Re-install.. What a nightmare

I just finished 3 day job of installing win98 and everything what goes with it to my parents computer :(

This is getting to OT section. Better just do it and get over it.
 
For what it's worth, I have the same problem (crashing to desktop upon saving) when playing certain scenerios and only on certain sides. I'm using US version 1.07c. I read a thread here awhile back that gave me an idea for the following:

Start EU and begin a new GC game then immediately surrender (quit) THEN begin the scenerio with the crash problem. For some reason, this corrects the prob. and no more desktop crashes :).

Not sure if this will help you as it sounds like the game is crashing for you while saving in the GC.
