So I've seen one report that 1.09 NA installs but causes EU to exit on W2K and I've had the same problem on XP. Is this a general problem on W2K, or are a couple of us just unlucky?

Specifically: the 1.09 NA patch installs correctly but when I run EU I get the safepatch logo and then an exit. Reverting back to 1.08 works correctly.

So, has anyone running EU on W2K had any success with 1.09? I really want macrovision to fix this one.

I have installed patch 1.09 NA under win2k and everithing is functioning OK.
Don't you think that gaming on XP is a bit too early?

Thanks for the follow up.

Given that Drake (on W2K) was getting exactly the same problem as me I was rather hoping that this was a generic W2K problem, looks like it's more complicated that that.

As for gaming on XP, I've had really very good results so far. In every case I've had it either work as well or better than on W2K, in fact this EU patch is the first problem that I've run in to wrt games :-( Bit of a shame really.

That said, I know that people on the betagroup were having some problems with the newest version of safepatch and certain games that used it, I just didn't expect that this would have caused problems with W2K which is why I was hoping that this was a different problem.

if it hangs after the sqcurity check, maybe try to change the drive letter to D: or something different than V or greater (I heard that was a past bug)
