Hi, I was playing 1.11 as Nationalist China and I found it seems Jap never launched any amphibious attack. They don't even land on the coastal province at all while I left no guards. Not sure if it's a bug or something. It makes me super easy to push back the whole frontline to Manchuria since I can now free up the troops around the coast.
Also some other notices.
1) I noticed Nat China is able to join Allies (Britain) or Axis (Germany) in the very early stage (before 1940). The diplomacy panel said the Chance is 80+. It sounds... weird.
2) Nat China might be overpowered I guess. Actually I can easily manage to conquer Communist China, Sinkang & Tibet or even Afghanistan while pushing back JAP all the way to Korea during 1939.
3) When liberating Nanjing China as Jap. Taiwan shouldn't be part of Nanjing China.
Thanks.

Japan does definitively amphib at times, maybe even to a higher degree than is sensible. 1.11 did not make changes to that.

In order to amphib, Japan does need to withdraw troops from the main front. So until the amphib succeeded this choice is a mistake. If however the invasion becomes a success, than afterwards the lower average stacking penalty tends to favour Japan as the attacker. Fewer longer battles tend to favour the defender while the attacker is more suited by shorter battles.

Not so weird at all. Until 1938 Germany was allied with China.

Possibly. The downturn China took as a result of the war is not properly simulated.

By 1946, Chinese industries operated at 20% capacity and had 25% of the output of pre-war China.

One effect of the war was a massive increase in government control of industries. In 1936, government-owned industries were only 15% of GDP. However, the ROC government took control of many industries in order to fight the war. In 1938, the ROC established a commission for industries and mines to control and supervise firms, as well as instilling price controls. By 1942, 70% of the capital of Chinese industry were owned by the government.

From 1928 to 1931 and from 1932 to 1936 chinese GDP did expand significantly. There was substantial potential. China had the resources and the manpower to become an industrialized nation and it cooperated with Germany to acquire the know how and capital.

Possibly. Then again doing it with Taiwan included makes much more sense gameplaywise. The event only triggers if Japan advances much further than it did IRL.
