Devs, could you please clarify the exact time at which the patch will go live? Pretty important to me.

 So.... They are going to release a patch about Romania on National Day of China?
There must be some connection.

Also reminder that Paradox is going to molest your EU4 game files, you'll get the update tomorrow even if you don't want it yet.
That's a Steam feature, not a PDX one. A feature I wish they dropped, so I can set up ASK BEFORE UPDATING. For some reason they don't do that.

You can disable automatic updates on Steam, can't you?

This is nothing new.
You can't. Only if you go offline.

In fact you can. I am an idiot. You set up to update games only when you launch them, and then pick from Betas the version you want to play. And the game will never update. Me. Idiot.

EDIT: Or I am half idiot. You can disable updates and play older version for games that offer older versions. FM 2018 does not.

Not a problem for me. I always wait for .1 subpatch. So I will wait for 1.27.1 without playing.

I'm hoping that the new patch will be well quality controlled out of the gate since they're not doing major changes to game systems this time, and the patch corresponds with rostered time off work.

Stay on topic, please.

I don't think there is any doubt that the there are many things around the 1.27 release the devs would have preferred to not do. However the GDPR legislation is forcing a whole lot of companies to take whole lot of draconian measures for fear of astronomical fines for non-compliance. At my place of work we are no longer allowed to have a calendar with peoples birthdays or pictures of team events on the wall, as the area is accessible to people other than those who work there.

You're either making this up (Euro-sceptic fake news?) or the legal team at your place of work needs urgent medical attention for paranoid delusions. Because there's nothing whatsoever in GDPR that would exact this.

The main change of GDPR is the huge focus put on client CONSENT, which is a great thing. It has nothing to do with calendars. If anyone is interested, https://eugdpr.org holds enough information to explain everything.

On topic, it's almost 12 pm here, and the patch is not out yet, which isn't a problem at all :p

PS: Focus on consent means that you can't force on me your crappy advertising, undercover data collection, etc.
