Hi all, I reported this problem with the last patch in the main forum, but didn't get any response, and now it's happening in the new Beta as well, though with a different country. In my current game as Kingdom of Poland, I was "crusading" against the Baltic Pagans, just to see what some of the new events were like. Eventually, I got the event creating the Tuetonic Knights, which was fine, since I was glad to be rid of some of those crazy pagans anyway (who revolt about once a month!). However, within a few days of its creation (game time) it was suddenly part of the Kingdom of Poland. I didn't think this was possible, since they should be considered as having a "Kingdom" tier government. I recieved no notification of this, and did not in any way request that they become part of my Kingdom, I just noticed that they had changed to the same color as me, and saw them under my vassal list. I was able to give them land and everything, as if they were a standard vassal.

The similar problem I had under the last Beta occured with the Papal States becoming part of the Kingdom of Germany it what seems to be the same fashion (though I was not playing as King of Germany, so I don't know the exact method by which it happened). I'm pretty sure that I have save games for both situations if anyone wants to see them. The only common thread I see between the two is that they are non-standard countries (as in unplayable by the player) rather than the normal playable countries. I don't know enough about the coding of the game to know what's going on, so I thought I'd leave it in the hands of those that know what their doing.

I believe Genoa is de facto part of the Holy Roman Empire by dint of the Emperor being King of Italy. Same with all the other Italian republics (Republic of Pisa, e.g.)

Not an event bug...it's a logic bug in the newly introduced hard-coded pledge allegiance subroutine. It's high on Johan's priority list fo rthings to fix.
