... overly satisfied so far. I have to admit that I waited a long time before I finally bought it over on Gamersgate. First, I hoped for Mac version (which is probably never going to be released, so I had to swallow my pride as a Mac user and buy the windows version) and second I wasn't aware of what exactly the advantages are over an original EU2 with the AGCEEP mod.
After 10 hours into the game I must say that I'm sorry I didn't buy it earlier. For the Glory really could be best described as Europa Universalis 2 DELUXE. It contains all those things we had hoped to see with the original release or an add-on. You can easily tell the developers have lots of years of experience with EU2, even small details were enhanced. God, how much I love this 2D map and how responsive it is on my MacBook Pro (late 2008) - no comparison to the 3D maps of EU III and HOI III. Still can't understand why someone would prefer those over the good old 2D maps. But taste is different I suppose. (just makes FtG ideal for older computers & laptops)
What I really love about FtG is the interface that is so much more user friendly and the fact that EU2 can finally be played on modern resolutions. The whole feeling of the game changed due to that. It is both an old friend and a new acquaintance. Combined with the AGCEEP mod and its historical detail and events this simply kicks a**.
Only downside - version 1.0 crashed a lot on me during the first two hours of gameplay, but when I upgraded to 1.2 it got much better, only once was kicked back to Desktop in my Muskowy game since then.
Sorry for spamming the forums, I just wanted to pass on my experience and maybe encourage someone else who has been hesitant to buy the game. It is definitely worth the investment. Thanks MichaelM & team for this great EU2 experience.
