Traits received by events give no bonus, WAD?

I noticed on 3 seperate occations that traits given by events didn't seem to affect the attributes they were supposed to. I think I've seen Illness, Crippled and the likes change attributes though. And I know "..Rides hard through the woods." work.

So, anyone else noticed. Is it for all events, just some? Is it WAD?
If I remember correctly, two of the 3 were supposed to give -1 Military, I'll get back when I remember which Trait.

Which, the post of the thread? :D

Can't you delete your own post? I have modly powers, so I don't how it works anymore...

lol!

I don't think members can delete their own posts any longer under the latest vB version. Would you like me to do it for you? :p :D

He only said "please". Maybe a "pretty please" is required. :D

I've noticed this too for the trait illness. No effect on the attributes.

Education traits work. I think Illness and the likes work as well.. I'll have to fire up my WC game (8 Kingdoms and counting) to check what traits didn't affect the Kings stat (Military rating of 13 with a 15 Marshal).

So i've tested a few traits through firing events at the console.
Here is a list of traits which have no effect at all on attributes(but they should ;) ):
  • illness
  • stressed
  • reckless
  • depression
  • kinslayer

BTW i've noticed a curious thing during testing.
For all trait events after id 1162 it isn't possible to fire them through console.
I get all the time the message "Event not found"???
Maybe they can also not fire during normal game?!

Kinslayer has GREAT effect! It is not viewable on the character itself, but look at your vassals! There loyalty from liege character trait changes dramatically.
The strange thing is that it is positive change!!!! –That’s why I like this trait as almost the best, since it helps you greatly keeping the vassals in order even if you have been bad.
Maybe it’s to be understood that they are afraid of you :)

Illness, causes you to not make children. The wife will not get pregnant while you have this trait. Pretty bad in my view.

stressed
reckless
depression

- I don’t know yet what they do.

Yes this is surely correct, but they have no effect on the stats of the characters and they should.

Kinslayer -> diplomacy = -2

Illness -> martial = -1 diplomacy = -1 intrigue = -1 stewardship = -1

And i'm not really sure if you will never be able to get childs with illness, because it gives only -1 on fertility.
So if you had, before you get this trait , a high fertility, it should be nevertheless possible to get children.

You should be and are able to get children with illness, the chances are just reduced.

Huh? My rulers (and anybody else) go rock bottom with this and as soon (if) as it disappears they are bunny hopping again.

But now I will look closer, and see if I can see anybody pregnant with illness.

I does sound fair enough, how many do you know having sex when they are ill?

I can't see why some traits gained by event won't apply attributes changes to the character...

OTOH, I know that if the effect of the event is an "immediate" one, the attributes changes happen BEFORE you press the button on the event pop-up. So you may think they have no effect, but it's just because the effect has already been applied...

Could you verify it's not the case here ?

Thanks,

Cat

not the case....as I exactly know stats for my king or other position holders (chancellor, steward etc.) and when they get Illness or Stressed trait , there is a not stats drop (nor before and after I press the button)

others traits (eg. Just, Wise, Zealous, Sceptical etc. gained by events) function correctly...

so I can 101% confirm that Illness and Stressed don't affect character's stats

Same with me, Illness and Stress don't lower stats.
And crazed don't lower stats too. It seems that no trait given by event will have any effect on stats!
My chancellor had those stats without and with crazed(have also the traits cruel and grey emminence):
Martial 4 Diplomacy 15 Intrigue 7 Stewardship 4

No change at all!
