The only power left to challenge the Republic's domination of the Baltic Sea and pretty much the north of Christian Europe is the Teutonic Order, a confrontation seems inevitable indeed!
With leaders like the Kerstigens though, Ziemgale should be able to enter any future struggles confident of victory.
 
Ending it with Rainers converting feels only natural, considering how all this began. A good end to a fun story.
Yeah, all his tribesmen and subjects were majority Catholic for at least 200 years already. One thing was a duke who is fascinated about his ancestor history, other is an Emperor of multinational realm.
But he had lifted taboo of his people pagan roots.

The last AI leader was also great. Conquered remaining Denmark, protected his Vladimir neighbors from nomads. Good job Leetoiv The Monster! :)
 
I too think that feels like a very fitting, and indeed almost poetic, ending.

I can only agree that it makes for good bookends here. The conflict between Letts and Teutons, the conversion of the Lettigallian leader. A nice story :).
