Sorry, but I'm not sure if my patch will work in the future NA versions. Problem is that non-NA version exe files are simple output of compiler with no further changes, but NA uses Safedisk, which completely screws up file so noone can do anything with it. I'm almost sure that also older NA version are using encryption and patch is not working also here.
Maybe we should ask Paradox, that they enable pre-1492 years in the future patch 1.1 so no Unlimited Patch will be necessary anymore.

I'm inclined to think that Paradox put date restrictions in source code on purpose. Or better stated, for marketing reasons. It's far fetched, but somebody might hack the game (uh hmmm), and create a game in a different era that then becomes wildly popular. Now, I don't see what harm Paradox would suffer since people would have to buy the game anyway (normal piracy aside). The thought might be that people would not buy Paradox's new game of that era since the hacked mod is available for free.

I don't know. What if they are planning on doing Byzantium Universalis? :D

P.S. Not that I would have been able to help you considering your release date, anyway, but I have not made any significant progress on my EU DB tool.

The one that would be four back from this one, or two prior posts by me.:D

At any rate, the status is "no progress", but I would not have been able to provide something to help you in your time frame anyway.

Curses, I'll have to finish it then.

Should have volunteered earlier. If you want someone to do a good readme/install instructions/etc. I can write it. It is, sort of, my job. I would need a major dump of all the bits, features, etc.

It's good to hear I will be able to play this scenario eventhough I will start at 1492. As for allowing pre-1492 dates or post-1792 I can't see a major problem as you would still be using the same basic parameters and engine of this game. Any game planned in Either Crusader or Napoleonic times that was hacked from this game should pale in comparison to what Paradox would put out, if not I see no need in buying it.:D

As for making mods and such one just has to look at the Civ2 community and all the changes they made to that game. I think it improved sales and would by no means hurt the future release of Civ3. We are just taking an enjoyable game and extending its life on our computers...

I found out a nice little bug in the game, and also the reason for why I had such problem playing this scenario. Even when you just have the EU installed, and up to 1.09 then trying to save a game as Byzantium makes the game crash - all the time, no matter what scenario and country! Save as something else, and all works just fine.

Clearly this is an evil conspiricy from the Paradox programers ;)

Ah, I was offering to help write up a readme and such. Too late, as I probably won't be able to do any work work on EU stuff for the next week.
