i don't get tourney's

perhaps you'll all say I should be more patient, but there hasn't been any tourney in my current game,

that's sad - my law should allow them, but no way!

is this confirmed by others or perhaps a combination with other laws?

I have Feudal Contract and never saw a single tourney in 90 years of playing.

nice to see that I'm not the only one, for sure when others stated in general discussion forum that I should be more patient,

Perhaps you have to be more patient.
Code:
mean_time_to_happen = {
		months = 960
	}
All tourney events have this MTTH(without any modifier). It means normally the event should happen within 80 years.
But if you have bad luck it won't happen at all or later. ;)

More info here

Have you feudal contract from start of game or have you change it may be later?

So it seems the events do work. Once in 80 years doesn't sound all that fun to me, should the MTTH be reduced? If so, then how much?
Considering that Tourneys (as currently scripted) are just as good at wounding your innocent 3 year old children as your experienced fighters, deleting them entirely would be more appropriate....

However, assuming that they are changed such that they only harm people who can be assumed to participate in the Tourney (an innovative suggestion, for sure), dropping the MTTH to a mean of 10-20 years would not seem amiss.

I'd presume this would require a new event command that targets a random, adult male courtier. Or does somebody, preferably with more knowledge on event scripting, have an idea to do it otherwise?

Oh, and you have to be catholic to get any of the tourney events. :)

So is there any point in having a feudal contract in an orthodox country? In my opinion the orthodox nations in this game are a bit boring to play: no crusades, no papal influence, no change to become the papal controller, no tourneys... Do they have anything interesting that makes it up for these in the game or do they stay underdogs through all the CG years?

or :D

you better finish your studies before you start dreaming boy!

Actually Orthodoxes are way too powerfull compared to Catholics because they lack all the penalties, especially on piety, Catholics have. Catholics are the underdogs instead.

I must strongly disagree with this. While Orthodox do not lose piety from crusade expectations, it is also nearly impossible to gain piety (0 piety from killing the infidel and building piety gain does not work); most commonly you are reduced to the slight but steady increase from church donations which can easily be wiped out (and often is) by events. This means that shedding BB is nigh-on-impossible unless you abuse granting and revoking bishoprics to gain piety.

As a Catholic, you can expand in heathen lands and also to some degree in Catholic by using major piety to drive down the BB you incur. (In fact, I am nearly certain that a WC is possible as Catholic if you get a young crusading monarch who doesn't die early of a random event, assuming you have the patience)

Orthodox may not get all the penalties, but they get none of the benefits either.

Non-crusading Catholics may be underdogs compared to the Orthodox during the crusading era, but crusading Catholics beat the Orthodox hands down.

What about that feudal contract thing concerning orthodox countries then? Is there any real benefits of having that law?

Tournament event problem

Hello. I searched but didn't find this one.

As King of Wales, I had Monarch Holds Great Tournament Happens to us.

The only option was our champion wins, or something like that. Our champion, Mescarose gains Valiant trait.

My issue: Mescarose is an 8 year old girl in my court.

Was this the tourney version of the Children's Crusade? :)
