We really need people to provide insight on which province should be owned by whom in 1520.
The EU1 IGC had a 1520 scenario which should be a good base for a EU2 scenario. Have you looked at that?

Some things to think about as proposed by IGC 1520:

-Denmark given Holstein
-Persian Stability to 0, reflecting the widespread unrest being caused by
the forced conversions to Shi'ite. Naval reduced to 0, since they never had
a Navy.
-Teutonic Knights Stability reduced to -3, reflecting the internal
conflicts/disorder etc. and reducing their aggressiveness. Otherwise they
attack others immediately....
-Nuyssaybin conquered from Persia, as done by 1514.

Changes:

Knights should own Rhodes.

Knight's capital should be at Rhodes.

Spain should own Malta.

Spain should own Tripoli. (Need to edit the Knights of Rhodes events. When the Ottomans annex the Knights at Rhodes, both Tripoli and Malta should be given to the new Knights if they are recreated at Malta.)

Magdeburg should own Magdeburg. (Annexed by Brandenburg in 1566. Brandenburg should receive a core on it once they convert to Protestantism, to represent the fact that Northern Protestants thought of church states as fair game for conquest.)

Tuscany and the Papal States should have some sort of very close relationship in 1520. From my limited knowledge on the subject, I'd suggest a vassalge to the Papal States which would be canceld in 1527, when Florence kicked out the Medici family and again proclaimed a republic.

Salzburg to Salzburg. (This all depends on how well Austria fairs against France.)

Batn Al Hajar (or whatever that province South of the Nile and West of Nubia is) to Ottoman Empire.

Basrah to Musha'sha'.

Awhaz to Musha'sha'.

Musha'sha' should be a vassal of Persia.

Herat to Persia. (Not sure how accurate Centennia is with Persia).

I'll add more in a bit.

Changes Cont.:

Bahrain to Bahrain. (Annexed by Portugal in 1521)

Damman to al-Hasa.

Qatar to al-Hasa.

Mascate to Portugal.

Al Kharam to Portugal. (Portugal controlled Julfar, the largest city in that area, but if Oman must be represented, then it should be owned by Oman.)

Dohfar to Dohfar. (To Oman if tags need to be conserved)

Hadramut to Hadramut. (To Aden if tags need to be conserved)

Mekhran to Baluchistan. (Persia didn't control must land East of Kerman. Basically if you draw a line North from Hormuz island that was their line of control.)

Hormouz to Portugal. (Hormouz was an island under Portugese control, but the game has it as a huge piece of land inside Persia. Best to leave it in Persian control.)

Yemen to the Zaydi Imamate, or some Arab tribe. Maybe even unowned.

Aden's capital moved to Aden.

I don't know what I was thinking when I changed this. Sorry about that... I do have an event in place about Tripoli and the Knights.

Additionally, West Africa will be seeing some changes:cool:

Should I go with what you said last?;)

Also, game-wise, with the exception of Hadramaut, how much long are these proposed nations existing?

I'm just throwing ideas around :).

Now to Georgia...

It was VERY divided in 1520. On my map I count 8 Georgian states in what are the Sochi and Georgia provinces of EU2. Perhaps Sochi should be owned by Abkhazia, and Georgia should be owned by Kartli.

Daghestan...

It's always a problem. Neither Persia nor Astrakhan owned anything in that province. I suppose Persia should own it, since they historically gained control of that region around 1578.

Also, game-wise, with the exception of Hadramaut, how much long are these proposed nations existing?

Going in random order:

Zaydi Imamate - It could really be called North Yemen, and Aden could be called South Yemen. Zaydi Imamate lasted until 1872. In 1520 they didn't control San'a, but they were fairly large. Eventually they did conquer San'a though in 1567 when the Ottomans started to expand their rule in South Yemen (Aden).

Musha'sha' were independent from Persia from 1450 until 1508. They were VERY fanatical. One might even call them Shi'ite fundies. They held a large degree of self rule from Persia, and weren't really "annexed" until the Ottomans took Basrah in the 1550s.

Dhofar was the largest, by far, of all the Arabian tribes in that province. They weren't really annexed until after World War I, and even today they give Oman headaches.

al-Hasa (also called Bani-Khalid I think) was taken by the Ottomans in 1555, and then 1560 they pulled/were kicked out. Again in 1592 the Ottomans took al-Hasa, and yet again in 1669 the Bani Khalid tribe of eastern Arabia kicked out their Ottoman governors.

Bahrain was annexed in 1521 by Portugal. Around 1601 Persia took the island from Portugal. 1716ish the island was annexed by Oman. Again around 1735 Persia recaptured the island. In 1783 Qatar annexed the island. 1801 the island was captured by the Saudis. I suggest that instead of having Bahrain exist for one year, the island should start as a full fledged city owned by Portugal with Arab culture, and Shi'ite faith.

If we were to have Georgia split into those two kingdoms, could we use Georgia to stand for one of them? As far as I can understand, it is kind of hard to simulate Georgia as we only have two provinces.

I suppose leaving it alone would be best, but in the 1550s Persia conquered the Georgia province. There would need to be a capital move event for Georgia if this is going to be represented at all.

A few additional revolter ideas:

Nadir Shah's (the leader of Persia up until 1747) despotism left no stable government to succeed him. Persia disintegrated yet again. The break-up of Persia in 1747 led to the rise of several independent dynasties. The Turkish Qajars ruled in Mazanderan, while the Zands rose to power in south Persia. Furthermore, Georgia (Kartli) and Azerbaijan gained their respective independences. Zand Persia ended up conquering all of the remaining lands from Nadir Shah's decendents except for Khorasan, where they took refuge. Later, the Qajars overran Zand Persia. Qajars then turned to Azerbaijan and slowly conquered the state until the late 1790s.

Zand Persia: Hormouz, Fars, Lut, Kerman, Birjand.

Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan, Daghestan, Armenia, Kurdistan, Tabriz.

Khorasan: Meched, Khorasan. Persia, if it decided to take a historical route, would become Khorasan after losing all of its territory to rebels or Zand Persia.

Mazanderan/Qajar Persia: Elbruz. Later the this small state would conquer all of the Zand Persian lands.

On Tuscany:

They should start out as a Papal vassal. The vassalage will be broken by event 17381 assuming that the sack of Rome comes off. This requires that event 17386 (French intervention in Milan) or event 12022 (French Angevin Claims) be in the event log.
