Anonymous pagan leader had my stats

I had wiped out all the Pomm armies and was beseiging their last province when an anonymous leader appeared at the head of a 800 strong army and gave battle.

Curious to see who this was I clicked on the figure head in the battle screen to see his stats and my own portrait and stats came up - complete with my advisors bonuses.

I curse myself for not making a savegame file. Too shocked by seeing myself gazing at me across the battlefield I guess.

the save would have been nice.

anyone else seen this behaviour?

I can confirm a similar thing happening again. This time I met an anonymous Muslim General and when I clicked on his potrait to see his stats I got the potrait picture of one of the women in my court.

Passing strange since women should not be leading troops in battle. I'll report back with a file if I see it again.

in my game - see the related post - I had always a CTD after reloading a saved game where Alv the rebel king controlled the papal states,

by the way, when the papal states ruler dies in my game, there's always "Alv the rebel king is now controller of papal states",

after loading, I clicked on Alv's avatar and got his shaded portrait, when I clicke on his face he turned out to be = me

yes, I can confirm this weird behaviour too, but the context is not the same,

Logged as a bug and title changed somewhat since I doubt he got your stats, instead just the linkage to the character screen appears to be broken.

You may be right but in the instance where the pagan leader appeared to have my ruler's stats (complete with advisors bonuses) I lost the battle when I had been easily defeating other similar pagan armies due to my superior military stats. The fact that the army of the anonymous commander was putting up stiff resistance is what made me look at the stats in the first place.

In the second instance (where the army appeared to be commanded by a women from my court) with inferior stats, the battle was won easily.

I know this is anecdotal but I sure felt like they had the stats that were displayed.

I think GH has it right... ;)

But, that does not mean that stats arn't getting fecked up as well, it just seems unlikely since a GUI issue is the manifestation. In any event the essential issue has been logged.

Yeps, but that seems to be more like the effects of the bug instead of the cause of it. I'd presume Paradoxians like to have the bugslist sorted dependent on cause, since that's the place in the code they are supposed to be fixing.

Yep, until I can get better data just leave it as the portrait for now.

But remember nobody believed me when I said that I found farmers/labourers in the factories for the longest time either. ;)

Having recieved no reply I take it that there is no interest in this bug anymore?

My guess is its not that they don't care about the bug, its just that it seems to be behavior that is fairly easy to recreate.

1. Start the game and bring up the character screen for some character with a portrait, for instance you ruler or someone in your court, and then close it.
2. Find an anonymous comander somewhere, like sieging a province, and then click on his grayed out portrait.

The person seen in the character screen will be the one whose portrait you earlier selected from your court, or wherever.

At least it happens like that for me.
