16 bit color

Just curious - How important is this 16 bit color issue.

I put the game on my new laptop. The game has been intermitently locking up or crashing on me. It is very random. Sometimes it will go hours without a crash. Other times - it will crash twice in 5 mins.

I just read about the 16 bit color issue. I have definetly been playing the game on 32 bit color. Is this the likely explination?

It is one factor, not the most important one,
I am sure you have seen my standard first advice.

1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
4) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.
