What is markedly different in the world between June 1815 and January 1816?
The Holy Alliance, established the 9th of September 1815 and the second treaty of Paris, the 20th of November 1815, which definitively ends the French Revolution and Empire Wars in Europe.

There aren't much differences between January 1816 and previous months, because January 1816 appears to me to just be a randomly chosen month, without anything significant enough happening to be a turning point, a new beginning.

However, in 1816, one significant start date might be the 6th of May, 1816, which might had appeared, back then, as a steps toward the end of the French Revolution and Empire Wars in the World, with the success of the Spanish Reconquista, and the return to an Ancient Order. In Europe, like in the European New World, popular movements inspired by the French Revolutions seems to had been crushed by the reactionary forces who thought they might simply create a new order ignoring national aspirations... Revolts in Europe and in the Americas will soon remind them that they were wrong.

Oh, that's very useful - much obliged!

Another project which came to my mind is "Imperatrix: Victoria", a mod for Imperator: Rome for the years 1815-1936.

It did never release, but some of the modders are still around (at least the Lead Developer posted a month ago, so the project doesn't seem to be abandoned, but evolves slowly). Maybe they can help you when it comes to politics or history of the era, the map was already done.

So I've been compiling resources for 1815/1816 and thereabouts (thanks to those who've posted suggestions here) and been taking a look at similar mods for V1, V2 and Imperator.

I was on the fence about buying V3 due to the mixed reviews and some of the playthroughs I've watched on discord and YT. I think the game has some interesting concepts but it also feels very empty, and I'm not convinced that it offers much in the way of replayability yet.

That said, I have seen Wiz's update roadmap and it looks promising. If the first big update (1.1?) before Christmas is a big, positive step then I'll pick up the game then and crack on with the 1816 scenario, but as things stand I'm not convinced the game is worth the money, and I'm erring towards the feel of an Early Access product. Obviously I appreciate that some people may disagree with this, but ultimately we all have to decide whether we think a game is worth the money to ourselves personally, and at present I don't think V3 offers much content. It's basically the economic system with some other semi-functional mechanics attached, and almost no country-specific (or even region-specific) content.
