That's OK, kamenev - thanks for trying. If this game was at all convenient to play in multiplayer, there would be a lot more people doing it. I've been keeping an eye on Gameranger, and I have not seen a DH game with more than 3 people actually playing.
 
in game ranger i have played many mp games. after 6 people game loose stability. maybe if all all players got excellent internet and good pc(not from stone age wooden pc) then it would be good, but there is always people from Siberia or some place like that who pull down whole game.
 
We have done internal tests with many many members from the team across multiple nations with no issues, so it is definitely an internet thing. Upload and download speed along with latency are important.

For most cheap routers, If you are close to the router (same room, ~10 feet away) and have a Wireless N router that doesn't randomly drop, you should be fine. I can get 6+Megabyte/Second speeds (WLAN network transferring files from one computer to another). If you are further away (ex 2 rooms down at my place), then the speed can drop considerably (5kb/s-110kb/s with random drops). Of course I live in a university town so there's tons of interference due to phones and neighbor's wifi as well.
 
Thanks, Limith. That's a good explanation. The problem is, I don't use computer terms well. What I meant is that I have a cellular modem, not a WiFi type. It is distinctly slower than my friends conventional modems.

There's no way DH multiplayer would work on a cellular modem.

Nope, the game is off. Kamenev found it was impractical. See the last post on Page 2 of this thread.

You're a dedicated player to remember it after a fire! :)
