Alright I just got the game and I have played it enough to know how to play so I decided to write an AAr for my first real game so any ideas you have for me would be appreciated but remember I am just a newbie so please be gentle.

ok this aar will not be a nice story it will mostly be very short to the point what happens in my game
start yugoslavie 1936 v1.05
right away in jan i improved my industry in all my provences, and then with the little bit of IC I had left I started research on electromech computer.

I decided to disband all my cavalry they are outdated and wont stand up to tanks so why am I feeding them? my IC is 28
april
I took my troops and positioned them along the hungarian border 3 armies with 4 divisions each and then a 2 division army in my capital. as far as i can tell with the fog of war hungary only has 6 divisions, and i think they look easy for my first conquest but that wont be for a little while

yugoslavia has the 17th largest military in the world
got the infantry gun 30mm, so i started research on early gear, then in november I got howitzer and started motorized war doc. this put me way over budget with my research since i only have 28 ic. then at the end of 1936 i checked out the armies of the world soviets are biggest at 109 then italy 62 then germany 61 japan 57 and UK 51 and me yugoslavia is 19th with 14

right away hungary influenced me so I feel very important of course, then in jan i discovered the early gear and did not start any other research b/c of being way over budget. by the end of jan my improvements have finished and my ic jumps to 66 so i research early suspension. I am noticing that I am in need of steel I have not run out but I am using more steel and coal than I am producing. and hungary has both so I am thinking of going to war with them I do after all have the 19th largest land army in the whole world. in march I was influenced by italy. I don't really have any plans for my country so far but i think I will join whatever alliance asks me first so right now it looks like I will be with the axis. also I am thinking of taking over hungary they have coal and steel that I need. well um I guess I will go back and play some more and update maybe again tonight or deffo tomorrow

if this AAR is just way to horrible to read and its making you sick its so bad just let me know and I will stop it and then go cry or something, but if it is not to sickening then any suggestions on my AAR and game will be very welcome thanks
 
ok my 2nd time playing was not as good as my first heres how it went.
in may 1937 i got early engine and then started early tank prototype, and then in june I got motorized war doc so I was pretty excited, I started research into encirclement which again put me over budget on my research and i could not spare a single ic from anywhere else.
In july is when things started going less good, I ran out of coal and my IC droped to 28, then 25 then 22. so by now it was all I could do to feed my troops and keep my people happy so only like 2 ic going to research, in september I started trading on the world market steel for coal b/c I still had a large stockpile of steel and I was hoping to pull my economy out of the guter.
then in oct I was influenced by italy then by germany in dec i got my early tank prototype but I had no Ic to build any with :mad: .
in jan 1938 I was influenced by italy, by now I am mosly facist so I will probably join the axis, in march germany annexed austria and my IC jumped to 30 for all my efforts. well I decided that I need more coal and steel and hungary has both plus some oil and they are not very strong but I don't want to go to war with them b/c it might make germany madd. so I tried to join the axis but germany told me to get lost.

in july my idustry was improved again and my max IC is 78 but I only have 32. also in july I totaly ran out of steel so I had to cancel my trade, and so since my economy is in such dire circumstances I decided to quit there and see if anyone gave me any suggestions
 
well I decided it was about time for my mighty yugoslavia to flex her mighty military muscles, all I needed was a totally weak country with lots of natural resources that I had a land conection with, well after a very extensive serch I discovered that such a country did not exist so I would have to settle for a very weak country with any resources at all, ALBANIA!! they have absolutly no army at all!! :). well it was about this time when I discovered that Italy had a claim on their land and I decided that I didn't want Italy to have a good reason to attack me so I was forced to chose another target.
as it turns out I made a good call because a month later in april 1939 Italy DoW albania and annexed them. so I decided that since hungary was part of the axis that I would invade Bulgaria. but i did not feel that my army was up to snuff so I waited and got encirclement doc in may and then put a division or 2 of infantry on the que. but I was forced to delay my plans for conquest because in aug germany starts WW2 and bulgaria joined the axis :mad: darn it! I was really running out of attackable neighbors very fast. by oct of 39 poland was annexed and I joined the axis, so I started moving my troops east to my border with romania they have great resources and I wanted them they also have a great army (compared to mine) but I thought so what my allies hungary and germany are to the north and bulgaria is to the south, so in nov I think 23 I DoW Romania.
my 7th army consisting of 8 infantry division started marching towards timisoara and my 2nd corps consisting of 6 divisions started towards craiova. both armies reached their targets by early december and unfortunately by the time they had arived the romanian armies in those 2 provences had almost doubled in size. my amazing soldiers in the 2nd corps turned around and ran away instantly I don't even think the romanians had to fire any shots :( the 7th army held out for a little while but broke and ran as well.
my entire military was on the run trying to get away from the very scary romanians, but I had not lost hope cause I had great allies or so I thought none of my "allies" had so much as moved a single division in my aid :mad: well the 2nd corps reached beograd pretty early and they had lost very little organization. then the 7th army reached nis about 5 seconds before the Romanians did and the ensuing battle did not last much longer before the proud soldiers of the 7th had turned tail and ran away. so now romania had nis, then right after that they invaded beograd with 10 infantry divisions which outnumbered my 2nd corps and of course the 7th could only be counted on to run away. but a miracle happened the heros of the 2nd corps beat back the romanians and sent them back to where the came from! :rofl: I was quite shocked, then I sent the 7th back down to nis to retake that since romania had abandond it.
this put me back on the offensive but looking at my armies the needed to rest and resupply. so I waited and then my brave allies decided to enter the fray hungary invaded in the north with 3 divisions and bulgaria had already taken one of Romanias southern provences with a division of cavalry. so after my men had rested a bit I invaded timisoara but was beaten back very badly.
but lucky for me romania was turning her attention to my allies they invaded bulgaria and took ruse and then sofia, but this did not last long they invaded and took beograd.
At this time in the world vichy france was formed and Italy joined the axis. and the soviets were demanding territory and getting it from the baltic states.
1940, by feb bulgaria was able to retake ruse and I was able to retake beograd and finished research on early tank. 2nd corps was attacked by 10 divisions and beograd was attacked 2nd corps was able to win and then for the first time in history the 7th army won a battle :eek: i thought for sure they were going to lose my capital again. in march i commisioned my 1st armoured division which would be ready in aug, the 7th army attacked timisoara but lost. and then disaster struck bulgaria was annexed by romania! but hey better them then me I guess and plus now I can get some of their provences. somehow I was able to keep confident even though I had lost almost all of my battles.
I then sent 2nd corps to craiova which I took and then on to sofia. but before they got there romania took skopje, and 2nd corps was attacked by 13 divisions they got trashed so I lost craiova. to attack me with 13 divisions they had to pull most of their forces from timisoara so I sent the 7th to take it from them and it worked! but the 2nd corps were being pressed they lost a battle at nis and retreated to beograd, so I sent the 7th to retake nis but they lost. now all of my armies are in my capital I have lost all of my gains and they had taken nis pasar and skopje and were closing in on my capital yugoslavias darkest hour had arrived.
Beograd was attacked both the 7th and 2nd put up a good fight but it was hopeless and they were sent back by the romanians. but then the Italians seeing my plight came to the rescue they sent me 6 divisions on loan so I sent them to retake beograd and they did it. then on to novipaser to retake that without a fight. 2nd were sent to beograd and given a new division that had just been trained. after a few days I sent the 2nd corps on to timisoara which after a short battle they took, then nis was retaken by the Italian divisions afterwhich I sent the 7th to craiova wich was undefended. then pristina was retaken by the Italians and then skopje was retaken so now I had posesion of all of my provences plus 2 of thiers and I decided to wait a couple of days and let my troops rest.
then germany sent some panzer divisions from the north which smashed the romanians at every turn, then with the Italians I took sofia and plodiv. then by aug the Italians had taken ruse then varna and so feeling very confident I sent the Italians on to bucuresti but they were thrown back very quickly. so I sent the 7th to bucuresti even though the Romanians had a very large army there I thought they would have very low organiztion from fighting the germans, and I was right the 7th won right away. I then sent the 7th to take brasov which would be the last provence I would take in this romanian war.
Germany annexed Romania at the end of augest. I got Timisoar, craiova, sofia. and plovdiv out of the deal so I was pretty happy. then in sep japan joined the axis and sent me a bit of naval tech. and that is where I will end so please tell me what do you think?
 
This info is a little late for the AAR, but next time if your having resource problems, research as many coal to oil and oil to rubber techs as you can. As any balkan nation, you might want to focus most of your research on infantry & industry before you pour everything into tanks. Also, don't upgrade industries that are already above 5. Upgrading industries costs have the total available ICs in the province you are uprading, unless its above 10. When it's above 10, it costs 5 ICs.
 
Dec 1940, right away germany DoW the SU I don't know why they did this they had a good size force in the south but hardly anything in the north, so the russians made huge advances in the north taking a big chunk out of the german gains in poland while the germans advanced to the crimea in the south. then in jan the soviets annexed finland (part of axis) and stoped advancing for a while.
March, looking east I notice that japan hasn't done jack against the soviets but they are building up some forces in china. then by the end of march germany had slowed down in the south at the crimea but retook all of their polish posesion in the north and some of the baltic states. me being the great member of the axis that I am sent no help to germany other than moral support. In april I decided it was time to increase my empire so I DoW greece, but I did not invade waiting to see if any of my axis buddies would send me any troops, they didn't. but greece did invade Italy at vlore and took it after a very short battle. so I invaded thessaloniki but lost then greece invaded plovdiv and I won.
By may I had 2 new divisions to deploy so I sent them both to the 7th army which now had 9 crack divisions, so I sent them from plovdiv to thessaloniki and they won after a very long battle, greece instantly sent an army of 4 divisions to retake thessaloniki but my troops held firm and beat them back. in june I sent the 2nd corps to Ioannina but the lost I don't know why they had 10 divisions and the greeks only had 5 but whatever, then I noticed 4 new australian divisions sent to the greeks I wish my allies were nice like that :( this put greece on the offensive and they took an undefended plovdiv which cut the 7th army's supply line so I sent a very hungary 7th to retake plovdiv which they did and then turned them around and sent them right back to thessaloniki before greece got there.
September the 2nd corps went to vlore and beat the 3 divisions there and liberated the provence. then the 2nd invaded ioannina but loses again with some big loses, so I waited a few days and sent the 2nd right back to try again and they took it but they only held it for about a day because 4 australian and 6 greek divisions came and kicked them out. so now the 2nd corps organization is like at 2 or 3 and the greeks and australians are chasing them into my provence there was no way my army would hold this was going to turn out to be a major problem, but then at the end of oct Italy came to save the day again! with 5 divisions they loaned to me so they were able to hold back the greeks then at the same time the 7th in thessaloniki were attacked by 7 divisions and after a week long battle won and kept the fort.
December, greeks get new troops from australia and from canada 12 divisions total in agrinion :eek: then I marched on Ioannina and took it the greeks pulled all their troops to the capital 15 divisions in all. I sent the 2nd corps with the Italians to agrinion and won now both my armies were bordering the greek capital, but I was not in as good a position as I thought I would be all the greeks australian and canadian troops were in the capital 28 divisions total. So I sat and waited which paid off I got another division to deploy and germany sent me 3 very very good divisions on loan. now I had with all my troops plus the germans and italians 33 divisions against the greeks 28 so I attacked and I got my trash kicked they beat me so bad I wanted to cry I lost 6 divisions in that idiotic move, the greeks lost 3.
jan, greeks attacked my strongest position and got wiped out they lost 5 divisions before they were able to run away :rofl: I guess that made up for my last battle with them, then the thing I was most afraid of happened the sleeping giant woke up and joined the allies. right after the USA joined nationalist china joined the allies. but january also had some good things happen I looked back up at germanys front with the russians and much to my delight operation barberosa was working wonderfuly the germans had taken most of the crimea area and they had taken moscow. febuary went by with nothing exciting I just let my troops rest and get back to full strength.
March march started out very exciting my very first bomber squad was finished. Then in the first part of april I attacked the capital again but I lost I retreated before any real damage was done and since I was feeling very discouraged I decided to stop playing and post this update.
 
I admire you for trying to tackle Yugo on your first try. If you had more bombers, I would suggest that you bomb them until their organisation goes down then attack. Also attack from different provinces as you get a bonus. Good Luck

April 1942, Italy loaned me another division so I took it and attacked the greek capital again I lost, but the greeks lost 3 divisions so I was wearing them down. right after I got back to my provence they attacked me but not with enough troops so they lost. then in july I sent a small force to take mitilini which was undefended, and then I attacked agian but lost of course.
I waited got all of my troops up to full strength which took a while becuase I had wiped out my stockpile of supply. then finally in september I was ready I sent all of my military marching along with my 1 bomber squad whith a fighter escort battle started on the 13th and did not end until the 28th but I was victorious during the battle the enemy went from 28 divisions to 5 and I did not lose a single division I annexed greece :rofl:
In october I reorganized my armies I cut my 2 armies down a bit and formed the 1st corps which had 3 divisions. I took and loaded the 1st on my ships and sent them to french owned aleppo but they were repelled by the french troops there. i tried 2 more times to land but they beat me back each time so I asked turkey for military access and they gave it to me, so I sent the 2nd corps on a very long march to aleppo.
Jan argintina joined the axis, 2nd corps took aleppo and chased the retreating french armies to beirut and beat them in battle there then took damascus and jerusalem. Then I sent the 2nd corps on to el arish but they got there at the same time as the british australians french and canadians and after alot of heavy fighting the soldiers of the 2nd came out on top but by then their organization was pretty low. I brought the 2nd back to full strength and was going to attack as soon as possible since I was driving the allied forces right up agains a 39 division Italian army in egypt. but then in march a very small Iraqi army took damascus and beirut so I sent 1st corps to retake the provences. the 1st meet the iraqis in jerusalem and won and I was going to send the 1st to chase the Iraqis right into Iraq but then the allies attacked el arish with a much larger army then the 2nd corps so I sent the 1st to try and help. the 2nd corps held their own against the allies but could still lose without help luckily they held out long enough the 1st arrived and yugoslavia won the battle. :)
 
right after I got all my troops home I got a few new divisions sent one army up to thessoloniki and one into the islands off greece and then prepared for war. In augest I DoW turkey which might not have been the smartest thing to do because they had almost exactly twice as many armies as I did I guess you could say I was feeling confident. immediately I invaded istanbul but my troops were slow in getting there so turkey was able to send reinforcements so instead of fighting 6 divisions with my 14 I got to fight 15 but I still came out the winner. then germany sent me 4 divisions on loan and I sent them into mainland turkey and invaded turkey from the greek islands. and then my amazing advance ground to a halt under a relentless barrage of a furious turkish counter attack against all my positions seeing the armies march towards my terrified troops was horrible and then they joined my armies in battle and I realized that almost half the turkish army was cavalry. so you can imagine I was very relieved.
So for about 3 months I just sat with my armies while the turks just came and got slaughtered by my crack infantry and tanks. then in the fall the turks either got smart or just plain ran out of cavalry because the attacks stopped so I started advancing again my troops were unstopable until my southern army met some very angry turks in the mountains that kicked my butt 3 times so I went around them cut off their supply and waited a little while then destroyed them. the germans at this time owned the cucuses (spelling?) so they were invading from the east and got to the capital first and took control of eastern and northern turkey while I had the west and south so germany annexed them. I am really getting sick of germany taking half of all my conquests I've been thinking if I could build alot of amour and mec then went to war with germany I could take a large part of their country before they could pull troops from the front to deal with me and then of course the front would collapse and the americans russians british and south africans would all be racing to berlin. hhhmmmmm....

If you are at war with the Allies they will close the Suez Canal and Straits of Gibraltar to unfriendly ships.
 
That's why you need to go from Turkey & take over the Suez Canal - it also puts you in place to grab some oil. If you take out Iraq, be sure to leave forces in Kuwait to block the numerous attacks from the Brits, Aussies and others. Looking forward to the next update.

Aaaaarrrgg!!!!

feb 1944, first off thanks for letting me know why my ships couldn't leave the mediteranian. well germany was taking out iraq and the brits had way to many ment in egypt to take the suez so I set my sights on the straights of gibralter. it only had 2 divisions on it but what I forgot to check was the size of the fortification (8) so I attacked with 5 divisions thinking I would take it easy well I didn't then I checked the size of the fort :(
I came up with a new plan I got military access from spain and positioned about 15 divisions on 2 provinces bordering gibralter and attacked again but it went about as well as my first try. so I backed off and waited, meanwhile persia joined the axis and germany annexed iraq also the advance against the soviets stopped and now it was just a standstill no fighting as far as I can tell.
I dicided I would attack and annex spain and then be able to bypass gibralter by building ships on the other side of spain. after checking the size of their army I decided to postpone that attack until the 12th of never.
New plan, then I decided I would go after portugul I positioned my troops along their northern border DoW and attacked. portugul was a push over they didn't stand a chance against my high quality military and that was the first time I had enough bombers to give a good amount of air support for my ground troops. so within a month or so I had taken all of european portugul but that was not enough to annex them :mad: but germany had taken the suez by then so I decided to send 2nd corps through the suez around the horn of africa and down to the colonies of portugul so I will tell you all about it with the next update.

Well in order to annex portugul I had to get their african provences so I loaded 6 divisions from the portugese conquest loaded them on transports went through the suez around the horn of africa and took the new portugese capital. After that they very intelligently put the new capital right next to the old one so I promptly took it so they again moved the capital to the next provence up and then when I was about to take that one to all my tanks and ships ran out of oil. this was very confusing to me because the moment I took the first city I set up a convoy and when I checked the supply map all that was green and it said my units were in supply. I also checked to make sure my convoy was shipping oil so does anyone know what is going on? do my ships have a leak or something cause I don't get it any insight would be very very appreciated :)

You could try positioning a sew ships in the seazones bordering gibraltarm these will sink (or at least try to sink) the convous headed for gibraltar, wait abou a month, and then attack, their org. should now be at about zero, no match

Have you checked that:
1) Your ships actually transport oil
2) Parts of the convoy have not been sunk
3) you have put ships in the convoy
 
I don't know why people attack Portugal anyway, they have 9 or 10 provences not on Europe that you need to take to annex them. Some of the Provences are as far away as Austrialia and South Africa. It's really not worth it to attack them... Besides, their facist, it's not like they're going to join the Allies.
