As someone who has issues multitasking every now and then, I make full use of the message system to keep the game reminding me of stuff.
And, commendably, there IS a message for nearly every occasion, barring a few.

The two that are not in the game and I would like if they were:

1: Minor Artifact action cooldown ends.
As is, I often find myself overflowing on Minor Artifacts, partially because there is no indicator for when an action using Minor Artifacts exits cooldown. As these actions are often useful, I would like there to be a message for when this happens.

2: Fleet reaches destination.
I often have fleets exploring the galaxy. But I often find myself distracted doing things elsewhere, only to realize at some point that the fleet I have used has been sitting idly for literal years or something because it never told me it reached the end of its scheduled commands.
Much like there is a notification for when a construction ship reaches the end of its construction queue, I would like if fleets had a message for when they have reached the end of their scheduled commands in general. Including the order to just fly somewhere.

As is, lack of both of these means I am literally wasting resources I had intended to use, simply because the game does not feel it prudent to remind me that I could use them.

Just use cloaked science ships for that.

Same difference: If I did not set the last point of exploration as a "Survey" of the system, I need to be constantly tracking where the Science Ship is in order to not have it just stand there for years when it runs out of commands.
Arguably it is even more painful when a scientist just stands around for years instead of doing anything than when a military fleet does that, because the Scientist could have been doing something productive instead, whereas military fleets usually have some downtime.

You can just use automated exploration/surveying.

And when you get the message everything is explored.
You know you're done.

You can just use automated exploration/surveying.

The issue with that is that the auto-exploration is inefficient.
I want to find the contacts as fast as possible, especially the other civilizations, not have the Science Ships (or whatever Fleet I use to explore) spend majority of its time searching every irrelevant nook.

Thus I want to give my exploration fleet (whatever it may be) just a set of destinations, and, quite importantly, tell me when it has reached the last of them.

And even outside of exploration, I have had my military fleets just hanging around in the middle of a war because it does not feel like telling me that it has reached the last destination I had set for it. Or my scouting fleet. Or whatever else. So it is not like "just set stuff to auto-explore" is going to solve my issue in any meaningful way.

Really? Cause I thought you'd want to know which little local nooks have secret planets for you to colonise.

I prefer knowing where the other Civs are first so I can get to the important choke-points first to limit their ability to grab important areas before I can.
Or, you know, seeing that they are there so I can prepare for war while waiting for the first contact to finish so I can declare war on them in their native language. Casus Belli: existing on the same quarter of the Galaxy as me. :b
