I had 2 hours to try this game, and 1/2 an hour is gone with the bugs!!!:mad:
Ok, now i renamed the AVI folder and the game starts,
but i see 2 mouse pointers:eek:
1- the standard windows animated one (no custom pointers)
2- the game's "pointing hand", that follows with a lag the first one!

what the heck!!!

I tried to take a screenshot, but it doesn't show the pointers.

Please anybody help a poor sould that won't play the game for another week...:( I didn't find anyone talking about this problem.
And BTW: will there be a patch for the Movies problem?

Configuration:
CPU: PII-400, RAM:256 MB, HD:a lot of space
OS:win2000 all patched up,dx8, intellipoint 4.0 mouse explorer
EU2 1.01
RUNNING SOFTWARE: ICQ, NAV

The video problem is, well, problematic ;) So far, I haven't found a pattern in what was causing the crash. Is it the copy protection software? Is it a particular CD-ROM? Is it a particular OS? So far, I haven't found a 100% correlation with that and since the software is not produced by Paradox, I doubt it can be fixed. Their web site mention an uptade on january last year and there is no mention of Windows XP. People having XP, 2000 and 98 have had problems. Without more info, I can't recommand something clear ot Johan since I don't even know what is the problem. However, if you were to repost your config in the appropriate thread about this problem, it would give me a chance to study the problem.

Now, your problem. Disable your intellimouse software to see if it solve the problem. Also shut down ICQ before playing.

i'm still here: do u know that it's harder to travel in Italy now than in the EU2 time period?:p no planes, fog on the highways, strikes for railways!!! then i'm stuck here, poor unlucky guy with a new EU2 to explore.

I found out that there's some kind of background operation on my win2000: every 3 or 4 seconds there's HD activity for just a moment and that causes the pointer to change and to be visualized in EU2.
But i don't know what it is: i have turned off indexing and it still goes on...

ICQ shut down and NAV disabled... now running through the services...

I am convinced it is Intellimouse. Uninstall the software and revert to a standard driver and a standard mouse pointer.

Go to Control Panel, Mouse, Pointers, Select "none" in the scheme box and click ok

I didn't know about Italy :D

Try doing ctl-alt-esc and see if the binkplayer is running, if so kill it.
