91 votes! This is excellent turnout. Still a tight race too. And a few more days to go...this could break 100. :D

2 votes away from 100 total. Great job! And still only two votes separating first from second place. This is the last day to vote, folks. Get those in before it is too late!

And we've cracked the century mark!

Polls have closed so no.

Go go Knud Knýtling!

And now...I have braved a tornado to scamper in and declare Knud Knytling and phargle the winners of the Most Exciting Chalice Ever!

Congrats to the winner and to the most worthy of opponents. And congrats to all of you 100 votes is truly amazing and it is all do to you!

I will gussy this up later...if I live!

(dun dun duuunnnnn)

I guess I join so many others who had at some point said "damn you phargle, I'll get you next time!" :D

Congratulations!

I actually voted for Jestor myself, on the day I got to know the polls opened. Even though Knud and his gang are a trendsetter, the Girl and the History Class are an amazing showcase of the writer's craft.

That said, I was also very happy to see how well I was doing (especially given who I was running against!), and must confess that I really wanted to win on some of the days. :p

----

Thank you everyone who voted - the competition was fun and the turnout was great. And the Knytlings got their due!

Congratulations to you as well. There were days I really wanted you to win, too. Taking this sort of thing too seriously is easy (and unpleasant, for me) when the voting is so close, and my life would be more content if you were just winning rather than inching in on first place. :) So cheers to you, sir.

Congratulations Phargle.

Will you let the hostages go now?

Well done everyone!

Congrats phargle and to all of the nominees. This was an exciting race that went to the very end. And 100 votes is easily a record for CK! Awesome.

As i suspected...

Alfred of Packer: Why didn't you bring any weapons, something more advanced? Don't you have, uh, ray guns? Show me a piece of future technology.
Phargle Knýtling: You go naked. Something about the field generated by a living organism. Nothing dead will go.
Alfred of Packer: Why?
Phargle Knýtling: I didn't build the bleeping thing!
Alfred of Packer: Okay, okay. But this chalice, if it's metal...
Phargle Knýtling: Don't ask how I'll surround it with living tissue!
Alfred of Packer: Uh.... right. Now, why did you bludgeon these four other courtiers?
Phargle Knýtling: Most of the records were lost in the upgrade. The Forum knew almost nothing about Blade's grandmother. Her full name, where she lives. Or any of the other posters. I was just being systematic.
Alfred of Packer: Uh-huh. Okay, now let's get back to...
Phargle Knýtling: [interrupts] Look! You've heard enough! I have answered your questions! Now I have to see the Crusadaar's Chalice!
Alfred of Packer: I'm afraid that's not up to me.
Phargle Knýtling: Then why am I talking to you? Who is an authority here?
Alfred of Packer: Please, I...
Phargle Knýtling: [interrupts again] Shut up!
Phargle Knýtling: [looks into the camera]
Phargle Knýtling: You still don't get it, do you? I'll find it! That's what I do! It's all I do! You can't stop me! I'll wait for you! I'll reach down teh intertubez and delete your bookmarks!
Phargle Knýtling: [being restrained]
Phargle Knýtling: Let go of me!

Listen, and understand. I am out there. I can't be bargained with. I can't be reasoned with. I don't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And I absolutely will not stop, ever, until I have won!

phargle is a machine. Congratulations to a worthy victor. (Now, please, let the kittens go!)

Congratulations to a worthy winner.

This is where phargle lynches me when I admit that I voted for the Crovans. :D

Congratulations to everyone, especially phargle and RGB. :)

It's only fitting that this was a record-breaking Chalice vote. In my opinion, every one of the nominated AARs in any other year would've been a strong contender for gold. Just an absolutely heavyweight field we had this year, maybe even the strongest in Chalice history.
