22) BUG: It shouldn't be allowed to grab "order" title as then game not loadable

Damn can't load my save game of teutonic order

In my game as brandenburg the teutonic order was founded and get my province marienburg.
So i declared war on them and upsurp the title grandmaster of teutonic order.
Then i become the new grandmaster of teutonic order and i've been no longer a vassal of king of germany.

I've saved the game. As i tried to load the game again it's not possible because the teutonic order isn't selectable anyway!!! :mad:
BTw as grandmaster of teutonic order it wasn't possible to grant a title to anyone! :confused:

Not a bug (and thus moved), although I can understand your frustration...

The religious orders are not ment to be playable. The fact that you became Grandmaster of the TO is a bit strange though...
 
Can easly become the Grandmaster, I think it is playble because its a nation none the less thge also Christian Order now that he took it over, he should be able to play it, I didnt have any problems, did you look under the Kingdom screen or the Dukes screen?

As many times I made game duke of Prussia to one of the sons and it was selectable.

Thought I did also have the sdame problem, I was Grandmaster of all the provinces yet wasnt able to give and of the Grandmaster Titels to one of the children or whom ever, thats a bit unrealistic, at least that would have made Brandenburg or Prussia a King status I think.

It was no problem to get that title.
I will explain... in my game the pope calls for crusade, so i declare war on the pagan counts north east of me. So i got a lot of new provinces among other things the province marienburg. Little later a event fires that the teutonic order is founded and the get my province marienburg and i had a claim on them. It was possible for me to upsurp or grab their title.
I don't like to contradict you, but it seems to be a litle bug. :D
It shouldn't possible to get the tiltle of the grandmaster of teutonic order, because it leads to the problems described. :(

It sounds like there is a bug here, although the fact that he couldn't load a TO game isn't it...

It's ok that it shouldn't be possible to play the religous orders, but then it have to be impossible to get their titles! ;)
 
I had the same problem as Willhelm. (And I bet there will be plenty of other Germans who will encounter it as well. ;))

Now, is there any way to fix it? If there would be a way to manually go into the save file and change it, I would love to do so.

searching for the prob took me here..... very frustrating, after years and years of playing, starting out as duke of saxony, i grabbed the title of grandmaster of the teutonic order. and i went on playing ... nice game on my hands. saved the game, and now want to play it further... no way josé.

maybe you dont want to call it a bug... but its very annoying ... and it is not playable?? oh yes i was grandmastrer for several hours (gametime that is ;) ) ... the only thing you have to do is not stop playing... the order is playable, very playable.

It sounds like (from the one account there) that it might work as long as it's not your primary title. However, since it also sounds like it's being used to get out from under Germany, it usually *is* the primary.

Just an idea, might be worth testing.

When I became Grandmaster of the Teutonic Order I experienced a significant increase in my demense limit. Actually I could control 199998 provinces without penalty.
Before that I was able to control 2 provinces without penalty.

Fun eh?
 
Ok, let's clarify this.

Has anyone had a problem absorbing the Teutonic Knights if you didn't grab the claim... like for instance if you had conquered a bunch of pagan lands and they popped up in your demense? Because I think that might be different to the game than grabbing a claim for it.

Am I incorrect in this assumption?

there is a problem: if you don't grab the Grandmaster title and simply grab your claim then TO is no more... but after sometime it emerges again
I played as a count of Vas in duchy of Kaertnen. After conquering province of Marienburg, TO emerged. I absorbed it without usurping title of grandmaster.
After several years it appered again... and so on for 4 times.
On the fourth time i grabed tje title if GM of TO and the story with save is the same as was discribed before me. :)
