Played with all expansions. No mod.

Steps:
Matrilineal married bastard and had some children of my dynasty.
Husband converted to Islam, married a second wife, had another child, and created a new dynasty.
All my children got switch to his new dynasty.

Now I have no dynastic heir. Already changed succession law, can't do it again. After 70 hours, I was forced into a game over.

The only bug is the muslim religion overriding the matrilineal marriage rule.

Now, salvaging your save from a game over:
1st, make sure you haven't changed succession law in both empire titles, you can always switch your primary title. An empire split may look disgusting, but it's not a game over.

Even if both titles can't be changed, there is a way out of game overing from this, but it's bloody (you will become a kinslayer) and involves imprisoning and executing your children (If you can't execute them, you have to join the satan worshippers and sacrifice your children that way) as well as assassinating your husband (since he's also your closest related kin as per the tree). Also, unless you matrilineally marry another character and hit tier 4 in the satanic society for an unholy impregnation, you cannot salvage the saintly bloodline that your father created, as well as any other bloodlines that you, your father, or your grandfather may have created.

In the future, avoid matrilineally marrying your female heirs to landed unlegitimized bastard characters that might consider switching to Islam. And don't land unlegitimized bastards of your dynasty, just to be safe.

I already changed all the succession laws at this point. Tried to kill the children, but my character has cancer and died soon after, so it's already game over for me.

I made the bastard a beneficiary in the crusade, since I thought it would be fun, then he ended up became king of Egypt so I married him. And he converted to Islam when he lost the Jihad.

In any case, I know this is a pretty specific sequence of events, but still be nice if it got fixed. Otherwise, marrying any bastard would seems rather risky.

From wiki : The child will temporarily be of the father's dynasty (until the child has children of his own via a patrilineal marriage)

Hypothesis :
Girom is your dynasty(temporarily) and the child before he marry again is also your (his) dynasty.
When he have his own child via a patrilneal marriage, he form a new dynasty.
In the meantime the game change all children (that branch) who are his dynasty (By coincidence, it's your dynasty) into to new dynasty.

If the bastard, her husband, is different dynasty from the beginning, will the result change?
