It seems that Dynamic Crusader State creation logic is flawed. After the Pope had declared a Crusade on Abyssinia, I pledged to join immediately. Then, before the Crusade's start I was DOW'ed by the Sunni Caliph, they cited 'Jihad' as their Casus Belli. This Jihad had the kingdom of Arabia as its target. As soon as the Jihad had started, I was given an opportunity to create a crusader state out of Lombardy, my capital duchy.
In all previous instances of crusading or being jihaded ALONE I did not have this issue. It seems that crusading and being jihaded simultaneously resulted in this bug.
I have all major DLCs enabled but Conclave. I may not have some portrait packs, but there are so many of them...
I don't have any mods but a self-made music mod. I don't think its this mod's issue.
I did not try to reproduce this, but I think this is what has to be done:
1. Own all counties in a duchy.
2. Pledge to join a Catholic Crusade.
3. Have a Great Holy War/Jihad declared on you. I think that your duchy must not be a de-jure part of the GHW/Catholic Crusade target kingdoms.
