In the v4.0 open beta there’s new building added that convert every existing researcher into one type of researcher.
The issue with that building is that, it applies planetwide and it’s hard to understand or switch things around. The modifier specifying wether I can build something or not is confusing to understand.

I can’t decide « I’ll have one zone be physicist and the other be engineer ».

Maybe instead of a building that completely switch things around, it would be easier if it was a zone designation instead of a building. After all we do have 3 zones for industry. Why not 4 zones for science.

In the stream yesterday, they showed that changed it so that it behave exactly like you are saying with the specialisation research building being removed and replaced by biology, engineering, physics research zone district specialization that gives only one type of researcher.
(They also change the name zone to district specialization)
