Ok so when i set to this resolution at the launcher or in the cfg file I can watch the opening movie then the game crashes any ideas?

My guess would be that it doesn't support that resolution. I've managed to get it to go at 1920x1200 successfully, but I don't know if it goes any higher.

I'm running at 2048x1152 with no problems and I'm sure someone in one of the other post is running ~2500x resolution ok.
Yep, I run 2048x1152, as well, and it works great.
Surely your monitor can't actually support 3240x1920! The only setup I've ever heard of that is that resolution is multi-monitor.

that is exactly what i have in a three monitor setup any way i guess its back to 1920x1080
