AI does not optimize court positions

AI rulers seem rather bad at optimizing their marshals, chancellors, etc.

Example 1:
AI chancellor: diplomacy 8, intrigue 11
AI spymaster: diplomacy 8, intrigue 8

(AI obviously appointed the spymaster first, and when the intrigue 11 guy came along, did not think to switch them over)

Example 2:
AI chancellor: diplomacy 9
AI son/daughter who just turned sixteen: diplomacy 11

AI will keep the old chancellor and refuse to appoint the newly adult son.

AI needs to periodically check for high stats in its court and reshuffle court positions accordingly.

I have noticed similar behavior. It happens when the AI loses people as well. It will fail to reappoint a person to a position just vacated by a knife-in-the-dark or a marriage.

It also fails to place people where needed the most, if it lacks enough people to fill the 4 key positions. Why would you appoint someone that is 4 Martial 9 Diplomacy 5 Intrigue and 12 Stewardship as a spymaster? Even worse is the fact that this is the only courtier the AI had available. (Frequent with newly granted titles.)

When my demense was small (and I was a duke) I would reload a savegame as my vassal and reset the advisors to his favor and maybe start a construction project or two to help it along. I have way too many vassals to be doing this now.

Any improvement in this area would be great :D

i think an automatic check once a new courtier appears/child comes of age is the best thing to do.

The only real problem is somehting like this:

courier1: 4M 5D 9I 10S
courier2: 8M 3D 12I 6S
courier3: 7M 6D 10I 4S
courier4: 7M 7D 12I 11I

How does the AI cope with this? Go with the highest stat for each only? Well that leaves a battle between courier2 and courier4 for spymaster...

Yeah, there's been plenty of discussion about this. Personally, it's very high on my "hot list" of things to fix.

Bug.
