sick of marriages

my son got sick of weddings. After his wife died without giving him children I found out he had 3 bastard sons,

and he never wanted to re-marry...

is this WAD (nice game feature?) or is this just coincidence,

I've seen this happening with another one of my vassals, after the woman doesn't bear children they go on a bastard rampage, ;)

I've noticed this, but cannot at all say whether it is typical or anything else.

I've had at least one instance where I could marry a reluctant son after many, many years of trying, so...

his "pretty wenches" were no good at cooking at all, perhaps we can make an event out of this,

"Hugh of Flanders has gotten sick of the cookery levels of his pretty wenches", he's now willing to marry again,

I've seen this 2 times in one game, :D

The frequency of this event has been reviewed in 1.03 :)

Cat,

just to check here, the issue was that they didn't want to remarry? You are talking about some kind of event? don't get it tough :)

Ho ?

I thought the bug was about them having too many bastards because of the "pretty wenches" event thingy.

Are you talking about AI behaviour like:

- You marry your son then grant them lands
- While they are played as vassals by the AI their wife died
- They never remarry themselves ever, even if they are very young ?

In this case, I call that love and dedication to the memories of their previous wife, but you are right, it's probably not WAD. :D

Have I understand the problem correctly now ?

Yes, it seems to be a problem that the AI doesn't marry twice. Not sure if it only happens when they have heirs or i fit happens all the time.

OK, logged with a more explicit title :D

I tried to exploit this phenomenon once:

A neighbour county and his wife were in their 25 and had three beautiful daugthers but no son to inheir. So i planned to marry my son to his firstborn daughter (mehehehehehe).

So time went on.. i waited for the young'ens to grow up.. checked in time after time to see if the rival count had his spouse pregnant (would trivialize my plans!)
When his spouse was like 30 she got pregnant! Oh no!!!! but wait, maybe its another female... nah.. cant take that chance.. have to order my spymaster to take care of the spouse.
So she did, were discovered, but that i can take. Now, very sure that the AI wouldnt remarry.. my plans were back on track.

Unfourtunally he did, and he married a 18yo son-maker who spit out atleast 5 sons. (I couldnt risk another assassination).

So its not a bug, just some tweaking on the configuration could be done.

Actually this is a duplicate of 323
