I've read that the models will have visual distinctiveness, based on the traits an individual has, I think that's awesome.
I would suggest to take it one step further, so we can see information at a glance, just by looking at the picture.
Perhaps embossed on one sleeve are symbols, each representing a vassal. Bigger symbols showing higher tier vassals. Maybe even going from Gold > tarnished > black depending on their relationship with that vassal. Perhaps the embossed symbol changes if they have a heretic or heathen vassal? A literal stain in their raiments.
That could leave the other sleeve free for something else? Military strength? other ideas would be cool...
Prestige and piety could also be visually represented as well as wealth.
Something about going to war with a rival and draining their coffers in an expensive war, to be rewarded with their character wearing worn and unrepaired raiments, really speaks to the inner git in me.
