5 minutes start up time

I have a problem:Every time I start EU,I have to wait 5 minutes for the game to start.This may seem like a small problem,but its really annyoing when you play EU much.My sys is3 800,128 ram,32meg ati svga card,windows 2000 professional,40x cd-rom.

Where does it take time? Initializing sound?

after I press "start" on the autodrive menu a black screen appears and it sounds like my dvd-rom is searching the cd.After about 5 minutes with the black screen the game starts

No, not really. This sounds like another copy protection issue. Some CD readers, especially DVD, are really sensitive and therefore may have some problems checking that a valid CD is in the drive.

No, that won't help. It is nothing wrong with the CD physically. It is the way the copy protection validates that the CD is authentic that is the problem.

It sounds like the whole startup scenario is played, but not shown on the screen. This takes about 5 minues and is fun to look at a couple of times, but not everytime. You can simply skip it by clicking on your mousebutton.
