Steam says it only needs 2gb of ram much lower then the 4gb maximum. Could you reach the cap if you try to use massive resolutions, on max graphics and the memory ram goes over the limit?

Does that mean that I can't play it on windowed (I have windows 64 bit) mode any more?
(Sorry if it's a stupid question, not a pc expert)

Window mode will continue to be operational. I play on Window mode because then I can keep track of time since the game itself doesn't have a clock.... Every strategy game should have the clock....but no.

There is no such thing as a stupid question. Only stupid people who get irritated over certain questions.

Be free.

Be well.

Game on.

Been playing the game today and 64-bit works flawlessly.

My opinion about this thread: Everyone should just go 64-bit exclusively and abandon 32-bit. Talk of using 64-bit for some things and not for others just lengthens the transition period more. End the transition period and companies will no longer have to worry about two different versions.

If you played the x64 version of SotS2 today, then you either have not updated in some weeks, have a pirated version, or don't understand what version you are playing.

There is no longer an x64 version (nor folder even) for SotS2:EE. They may return to the x64 version once the dll's for x64 mature enough to be worth it.

The game does not need 4GB+ check your resources... Seriously most programs do not benefit from 64-bit (RAM wise). Infact i don`t know any game which needs 4GB+ RAM. Games do benefit from multithreading when running in 64-bit. But with Sots2 the advantage is about nothing.
